Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Reliaquest Bowl, Bama vs. Michigan, Dec. 31, 11:00 AM, ESPN...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Rick Neuheisel at half of the Washington-Louisville Sun Bowl game said he thinks JM’s erratic play over the course of the season will make him rethink any idea of going to the NFL. He thinks he is coming back. To Alabama!? He didn’t say.

Look Milroe is not a QB, people will stand up for him because of the kind of man he is, but he is no QB, he was never coming out of games this year and here's why, it is known ( people on here smarter than me know this I'm sure) that the university and Milroe/ Arnold last year struck a million dollar deal on this lank stuff, if he's not on the field it's worthless, also Greg Byrne could not push Saban around so he retires and Byrne hires CKD who is a yes man! If Milroe comes back, next year will be worse I'm done till spring Tidefans RTR
What kind of man is he? What evidence is there? Dude is the most selfish player I’ve seen

IMO if he could play we’d have seen him playing by now.

Maybe. I just don’t buy the idea that CKD is sticking with Milroe out of stubbornness, loyalty, or because he’s an idiot. I think he has reason to think Milroe gave him the best chance to win.
He stuck with Milroe because of NIL

Milroe’s stock is falling faster than a pair of over-stretched tighty-whities. He did himself no favors today. In hindsight, I’m betting he wishes he’d opted out. (Lord knows, most of us wish that, too.)

I know some people think he was never good but, I cannot explain the fall off from the UGA game until now and it was a real fall off, I mean he was a consensus first round after that game, and some even had him as QB1 and now he looks like a UFL QB at best.

That defense, though.
defense was terrible, gave up 190 total yards. If you told me that before the game, I would say Bama wins 100 time out of 100. That sideline penalty changed the game to me. I know they didnt do anything with the ball, but coming out of the half, stuffing Michigan, then get a 15 yard penalty changed the momentum of the game.

DeBoer said “no I didn’t” when asked if he considered a change at quarterback with Jalen Milroe struggling early. “I saw a fighter. The fight in his eyes. As long as I see that, I want to hang in there with the guys this program means a lot to.”

The big issue I see is that Milroe is hiding some other issues.

If you just go it's all Milroe's fault, you are kind if ignoring other areas of concern. For instance, there was no established running game this year. When you have a quarterback that's unreliable, that's exactly when you should be investing a lot of time and effort into getting it going. Instead, Alabama has a running back that averaged a perfectly respectable 5.7 per rush leaving because he only got 79 carries.

This team is set up to put everything on the shoulders of the QB and when he doesn't play well, we can all blame the QB. What we're not doing it asking why everything was put on his shoulders in the first place. The offensive coordinator is mediocre, was fired because his offense sucked at Indiana and is only here because he knew DeBoer. That's a problem, there are other problems to but unless Penix is going to come back to college, I'm not sure DeBoer's offense is going to look like what we think his offenses look like...
I think someone needs to push Sheridan on down the road and hire a better OC and OL

He better declare , another year like this one and he will be an UDFA hoping to latch on to a practice squad.
