Never believed Deboer when he said Milroe had made all these improvements over offseason. He looked bad at A day. He looks the exact same as he did 2 years ago. What he does wrong is instinct you can't coach it this far along. It wasn't possible for him to improve his qb play. He got over on alot of people his attitude and charisma brings you in but it was never happening.

Qb has to be able to feel pressure and step up in pocket can't drift you run into d end everytime.
Has be able to throw the quick slant
Has to recognize coverage. By default can't cover everyone the double covered guy should never get the ball
Has to look off safety
No amount of coaching will help you run read option Has to be instinctive react to the option player
College qb has to be able to slide coverage center can't do it he doesn't have the view qb does.

Hundreds of great athletes with great arms get told every year your not a qb change positions because they can't comprehend what it takes to play qb. Nobody ever told Milroe. 3 offense coordinator two different head coaches and he still looks the exact same. Easy to game plan for minus Kirby who becausen of his scheme he always matched up well with.

Milroe is a below average QB, if he was starting at Arkansas, nobody would even know his name, problem is we don't have the coaching staff to elevate his ability, which sucks because in the end we have deficiencies in personnel and coaching

One thing's for sure: DeBoer is now on the clock. It's natural to question his judgment after his misplaced faith in Milroe. He now has the chance to clean house of the more brain-dead and/or Lanky players and needs to do that. He likely felt he owed Milroe after he helped stem the flow of post-CNS transfers, but those days are over. If he wants to get the fans back onside quickly he MUST start holding players more accountable - Jefferson coming in one play after a colossally bone-headed unsportsmanlike penalty was mind-boggling, and Milroe, well. His first words to the team (and the press) at spring practice has to be, "Every position on the field is open."

As for Milroe, he is who he is as a QB - a freak athlete with terrible instincts. Michigan basically sat back in the 2nd half and trusted him to lose the game for Bama, which he did. He put an emphatic end to 7 years of stellar QB play: Bryce, Mac, Tua, Hurts. His future is not at Alabama: he either transfers or hopes an NFL team takes a flyer on his athleticism. By all accounts he's a good kid and now has 2 degrees (and will most likely make another fortune eventually representing most of the HS kids Bama will want to sign).

It's too early to determine that Kalen is not a good coach. I'm giving him a pass because WE ALL should have known this season was a transitional season.

When Bama landed Nick,he was a finished product as a coach. Kalen is not. Like the players themselves, DeBoer has some developing to do. 2025 is going to be key for DeBoer.

I agree with you. This year he had to play the hand he was dealt. IMO, the clock now starts for him because he can start remaking the team in his image.

The clock ticked after Oklahoma. I knew there would be some growing pains this year, but face it, this team was favored in every game they lost. Next years team will not be as experienced. It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

How is someone with a 90% winning percentage, over multiple collegiate divisions (with a cfb championship appearance), not a finished product?

I'm not sure the best coaches could take him past his ceiling...........he has hit it

How many of the eeyores would have wanted Saban fired after his first season?

Not saying, DeBoer will go on a run like Saban because that kind of run only happens once in a blue moon. What I am saying is.....give the man more than a season before running him out of town. What are we, Auburn? Give the man time to fill the roster with his kind of talent and to fully install his systems.

He's going to get it, and I think he should.........he has a contract..........but he needs to make changes

There’s a huge difference. There was an optimism after Saban’s first year. We knew it was getting better. With DeBoer, it feels like Shula. This isn’t going to end well.

Exactly! No coach in all of football could have made Milroe better. He hit his ceiling.

Glad we are done with that experiment!

Next year we will see what we can do with a real quarterback!😎
For all the offensive LANKSTERS that backed and supported Milroe over any of our other QBs, better hope that they invested their NIL money wisely because, long term, Milroe is costing you millions in the long term.
