I remember during the SECC game last year, they mentioned that Milroe was the top QB in the nation in “time with the ball in his hands” between the snap and pass attempt. They tried to play it off like a good stat, but I was screaming at the TV, “WE KNOW, IT IS KILLING US!!!” Dude held the ball longer than every other QB in America. I just want that to sink in.
Honestly, I gave up after they started the nonsense again to open the season. I was like “what are you seeing that has changed?”

I just remember the ball being centered all over the place and the line not being able to pass block OR run block consistantly. I know we can't have a Stoutland every year but as bad as Milroe was at trad QB-ing, he was asked to make something out of nothing every third play. If Seth was somehow able to center the ball effectively to TS and the line could block better, well, I sure didn't see it in the SF game.

Our problems were legion.
If he was calling the protections and holding the ball too long, HE WAS CREATING THE NOTHING HE HAD TO WORK WITH!!!

What’s so hard to understand about that? Even Milroe admits some of the snaps were his fault.

The center left and won the award for best center, Milroe got worse.

There is another video evaluation of Milroe I can't link, as the guy curses several times. Its on the YouTube channel...Mister Truth.

He names the upside for Milroe.....he's got good frame and can be explosive.

The Downsides though:
- classic one read and run QB
- Cannot process both sides of the field
- Zero ability to throw with anticipation
- Misses wide open WR's very often
- Comically bad accuracy/ball placement
- Horrific pocket presence/movement
- Has no feel for the game
- Telegraphs runs with his eyes
- Panics in the pocket when under pressure

Final Evaluation - 0 out of 5.....Absolute Trash....Undrafted
OMG - just went and watched it. ABSOLUTE GOLD. He is a bit overdramatic about it, but it's all the stuff we've seen from Nilroe.

NFL Comparison: Combination of Akili Smith and Heath Shuler.

Love how often he repeated that Nilroe should never be allowed to throw the ball.

"This guy is a scrub"...

"The only thing you will get out of this guy is disappointment"...

"He's got horrible ball security"

Despite the overdramatic angle, worth a watch.

How are they measuring hand size, base of palm to tip of finger or thumb to pinky?
I could be wrong but I think it's distance between thumb and pinky.

Fun fact: I remember learning about Javon Kerse being able to hold a 12 inch ruler between his thumb and pinky.

I read the comments about Milroe's small hands and think of a number of QB's who have been successful in college and the NFL who were smaller in stature. I always thought that the way Milroe gripped the football was awkward even though he loved to demonstrate how far he could throw the football. He can throw it 100 yards but can't throw it accurately 15 yards. The question I have is what is going on between the ears when a kid refuses to accept coaching over time? It is puzzling when one considers the personal cost involved. His coaches certainly have't done him any favors over his career by rewarding his lack of improvement with playing time..

Yeah, even if he couldn't learn/process/understand the offensive system, the refusal to learn better footwork and pocket fundamentals wrecked so many potential explosive plays and led to TOs and INTs or punts.

Not to mention his inability to see/run RPOs and failure to see wide open receivers running free in patterns!

Heh, you found my channel and I didn’t even have to self-promote it…

No, not really

I saw an article on al.com where an NFL scout said he did much better in practice on Thursday. If he has a good game on Saturday, then his stock shouldn't be damaged by the bad practices.

That is so typical. We've seen that lack of consistency for two years. But his "upside" is enough to make people drool over the possibilities.

Not Alabama's problem anymore.

This may have been addressed, but after Senior Bowl measurements, this might be Milroe's problem:

I know this is being said at least partially in jest, but it’s true that smaller hands are a problem that an NFL QB must overcome. But even though true, Jalen’s problems are far greater than that: the inability to read the field and the most amazing lack of football instincts and awareness I’ve ever seen from a D1 football player, are far greater hurdles. Also, bad mechanics and bad pocket awareness add to his QB woes.

I feel for him but all have to face the reality of their limitations at some point, but it’s especially tough when you are in the public eye.

At least he’s done well academically, graduating cum laude, with a GPA of 3.52 in Management and winning the “academic Heisman”. We know he’s articulate. He’s on par with Tom Brady and Tiger Woods with the ability to speak intelligently for a few moments without saying anything. He’s better than CKD. All kidding aside, he can be successful outside of playing football.

I’m so glad this clown is not our problem anymore. I do find it hilarious that all these guys are coming out of the woodwork talking about how horrible he is. Where have you been for 3 years?
Some respectfully mentioned shortcomings a couple of times then left it alone. They didn’t infest every thread on the football board and every other board on Tidefans with withering Milroe criticisms 8 times a day, every day. If anyone ever said a kind word, the anti-Milroe posse sent telegraphs to each other to put on their posting shoes and refute it in agonizing detail. Nothing could pass. Many probably didn’t feel the need to pile on? That was already being ably handled.
