Don’t you realize that the success or failure of every single “Recruiting Pledge Day” solely hinges on whether or not there’s an Official Red Ryder Carbine-action Two-Hundred Shot Range-Model Air-Rifle Recruit left under the recruiting tree?Fans on Bama boards are underwhelmed with his commitment. Of course, it's all based on his rankings. Very typical of uninformed fans. He ran 4.5 numerous times at various camps at almost 6'3 and 230 lbs. That's nothing to sneeze at for those who followed recruiting. Welcome home and RTR!
I believe he also missed most of his junior year due to injuryMore from his HS coach.
" I don't think people realize this, but he's 237 pounds and he ran a 4.55 (second) 4o (yard dash) at Alabama's camp," he explained. "He ran a 4.54 at Memphis' camp earlier this summer. He's a kid who is a legit, legit 4.55 guy at 240 pounds. There are just not that many of those around. I think his twitch and explosiveness is going to give him an opportunity to have that kind of impact and it's certainly a big part of his tool set.
He’s a 'freaky, freaky good football player,' Mitchell continued. "He's big, he's fast. We're super excited to see what he's going to do this fall."
Poke, he did indeed hence his low rankings. But most uninformed fans don't bother with the important details.I believe he also missed most of his junior year due to injury
He camped at Memphis and Alabama and received offers from both. Most likely means he’s limited in how far he can travel for camps. I don’t think Alabama or Memphis would share camp measurable with “the enemy”, so unless the guy has outstanding film (who doesn’t), why would the bigger non regional programs have a reason to know who he is?Roll Tide and welcome! I don’t disagree with the comments here. But when people see he chose us over Virginia Tech, Memphis, and JMU they draw certain conclusions.
He’s literally in Alabama’s backyard, why would you waste resources if you know he’s camped at Alabama and has an offer?Look. If Bama signs a player, he must be good or at least have real good potential. But winning a recruiting battle with Tech, and JMU means he’s not as highly regarded by other big name coaches as other players we normally recruit. So It’s not unreasonable that the fan base isn’t celebrating. But all that matters is what will happen on the field. Time will tell.
Let them draw conclusions. He will most likely be a top 150 player before the end of his senior season.Roll Tide and welcome! I don’t disagree with the comments here. But when people see he chose us over Virginia Tech, Memphis, and JMU they draw certain conclusions.
