I started this thread because I did not see another thread for the 2026 recruiting class. Forgive me if I overlooked one.

Article says this about Caleb Holt:
... Holt is one of the most sought-after prospects in the country this cycle. He's a consensus 5-star and the No. 5 overall player in the 247 composite ...

Also lists 4 other players who have scheduled visits to Alabama this fall:
... Holt becomes the fifth Top 50 prospect in the 2026 class to schedule a visit with Alabama this fall.
Joining him will be SG Tarris Boule (9/6), PG Deron Rippey Jr. (9/13), SF Jaxon Richardson (9/13), and SF Cole Cloer (10/18) ...

Really really hope we can get this kid. Hoping all the ties to Alabama and Prolific Prep are gonna help us out with him.

He has the body of an NBA guard already..

Recruiting news on Katrelle Harmon

Alabama listed as a finalist for 2026 4-star guard Katrelle Harmon
The 6-foot-4 guard from Mount Pleasant, Utah, and Wasatch Academy is the 68th-ranked overall player in the 2026 class. He is a top 10 combo guard in the class and a 247Sports Composite four-star.

Recruiting news on Jaxon Richardson:

BAMA was reportedly very close to signing his brother Jase Richardson last year, according to their father Jason Richardson:
... Jason said that he believed Jase was Alabama-bound and he even told the coaching staff in Tuscaloosa that if they let him visit East Lansing for Grind Week, they were going to lose him. And sure enough, that was enough to sway Jase's decision as he later became a Spartan ...

An excerpt from the article below says:
... Oats won't make the same mistake with Jaxon.
The family's comfortability with Oats and the Alabama coaching staff from Jase's recruitment is working in the Tide's favor ...

Recruiting news on Gage Mayfield:

Missed seeing this article when it was published the first week in June.

Gage has made a come back from a serious injury to become a high-level player at a small school. He and Herb Jones have more in common than just same high school.

No way Mayfield isn't a better offensive player than Herb at the high school level, if he's being that highly sought after.

Herb Jones had one of the worst shots for a college recruit his first year or so at Bama that I'd ever seen. An absolute brick layer!!!

But, through very hard work, I've never seen such improvement! Hope Mayfield can work just as hard, and if he has the offensive skills already and adds HJ's defensive savvy, watch out!

I don't know if the article explains why, but my immedate thought is the kid is after $$$.
Or he might just wanna go out of state for school. I know I wanted to go out of state at that age. I wanted to go to UA more, so that's what I did, but i remember wishing it were out of state lol. He might feel the same way.

A few years ago (primarily before CNO) it made sense when a talented kid from Alabama chose to go out of the state.

But now that we have a staff and roster that CAN win a NC, it doesn't make as much sense. And if you are a star in-state player that is on that first team to win a NC at Bama, you've stamped your ticket for the future to do just about anything in Alabama that relates to basketball!

Wow, that's surprising considering he is 20 min down the road from UA.. Good luck to him!

By his own account, Mayfield has been compared to Herb Jones from day one. Alabama's staff his continued to push this comparison. Perhaps he does not want to continue to be compared to Herb. Just a thought. :)
