We’re not extremely well coached, and the past couple years we’ve not had as many truly great players as we became accustomed to. I don’t care HS rating…. Fewer first rd draft picks …fewer true difference makers on offense and defense, good players…but not great like in Saban years.

Ty was hardly great today….but he was starting his first game in a deafening stadium, ag better coaches and players who dominated both sides of ball. He was not the problem or the solution.

What kind of team are we gonna be? Still lots of football left, obviously.

Just don’t like the soft coaches. Soft dc gives you this and soft head coach/oc. I’ve also wondered why strength staff has been so hyped, since taking over we seemed weaker physically every year.

Its clear the defensive scheme does not work against mobile quarterbacks and Womack does not adjust. Maybe it doesn't help our talent excel but whatever it is we are weak on the LOS and get beat too often on misdirection and sideline routes. LOS is the key and we don't dominate them anymore. I was hoping this would be back to Bama football but its not...its back to the last 2 years football

What little passion I had for college football was pretty much extinguished today.

I tried, but I just am not feeling it. I've been posting quite a lot about this over the last couple of years - the way the game has changed (x-fer portal, pay for play, etc) has basically ruined the sport for me. I had hoped watching the game today would get me fired up, but in reality, I'm not even upset Bama lost. I feel no connection to this team, and they feel completely disconnected from the school I attended.

I’m there with you CA. We’ve shared similar thoughts the past few years. Truthfully I was spending more time with my grandkids this afternoon and catching up on the game when I could.

My Alabama “Give A Damn” is just about busted.

These comments are full of sugar coating. We were horrid! On both sides of the ball.

Bad play calling, bad execution! We looked unprepared and lost, just like last year! To many darn penalties, just like last year!

Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Oklahoma and a bad Michigan team. Now this? Pack his bags and let's start it over, it's not going to get better. He's over his head and it's plain as day.

This is exactly why I said I had zero expectations for this season and could see it being 7-5. It’s the first game of a long season with plenty of time to improve. But this did not look like a well coached team out of the gate. We look like we picked up right where we left off losing to Michigan. I guess it turns out that FCS and Washington isn’t Alabama. I can’t even say “SEC” because this was frickin 2-10 FSU.

We should not be ranked at all next week.
