Not sure how to feel about this one. I’ve been a DeBoer apologist and there’s a lot of season left, and it’s better to lose early. But this felt like Vandy last season on a larger scale with better players across the board for the other team. The offensive game plan was solid and they were forced to get away from it because the defense wet the bed again versus a mobile QB in a misdirection style offense. Ty was asked to do too much today, and honestly he didn’t play too bad.

Thing is, there are several more teams on our schedule with this type of QB and this style of offense. Auburn is licking their chops, from what I saw last night.

The only glimmer of hope I saw was the defense actually improved after fsu went up 24. They made Catellanos one dimensional. So facing Arnold won't be unfamiliar. Keenan back will help the rush defense too

It's not about domination (or even winning), it's about looking like the team wants to represent Alabama.

Bama hasn't looked that way for the last few years (even under Saban) which exacerbates my overall disillusionment with CFB.

As I stated in the 2nd half game thread - A team takes on the personality of the Head Coach and the people surrounding him.

How can a team of players believe in themselves when CKD at times sounds as though he isn’t necessarily convinced he is “up to the task”?

Same downfall as last season. Losing to a team we should have beaten. Coming out of camp we heard the team had a new attitude but then had the same result.

So their QB talked his noise and backed it up? This isn't Alabama football. I cant complain too much we have won like 6 championships in a 12 year stretch. But we had to know this was coming. It wasnt going to last forever.

Castellanos did exactly what you’d have expected him to do in Malzones offense. How were we so woefully unprepared on D for this?!?

Yeah I was pretty vocal last year that the OU game was absolutely unacceptable.

Then the Mich game happened.

I tried to be positive and hope that an OC and QB change would help.

But our preparation is just abysmal and the defense is especially bad.

OL continues to look awful too.

What do we even do in practice?

When we get a coaching hire right it’s a Grand Slam but man we also make some bad ones.

KD rode Penix to 2 good seasons at Wash and then pulled off a Heist.

He’s Dubose riding Shaun Alexander to an SEC Championship and then winning 3 games the next year.

I don’t care what his buyout is there has to be a better HC out there who can handle the SEC.

I’ll take one who can handle an ACC team.

We are kinda forced to give him this season and next. So hard to say. It’s hard to see a positive trajectory at the moment though.
