I would love to see a no-star, virtually unknown QB, completely obscured by the "Manning shadow" win the starting job at Texas. Not because I don't like Arch but because it would make such a great story.

I didn't watch their Ohio State game a few weeks ago. I did see some of the UTEP game last week. Arch's throwing mechanics are absolutely terrible. He will never be accurate throwing the way he does.

That's bad enough....but his field vision isn't very good either.

Arch can’t help it. It is genetics. He inherited the Manning Family Forehead. The extra large forehead exerts excessive downward force on the optic nerves thereby causing problems with depth perception. However it does offer a unique NIL opportunity. Uncle Peyton is stepping in to help.

You would think that his mechanics would be flawless by now. Very unorthodox style.
Given his lineage, yes, I would have thought the basic QB things would be solid. As state above, there's a reason he sat behind Ewers and it looks like we are seeing it.

Maybe its because he played at a small private school? That doesn't necessarily hold though because Ty came from a private school that was even smaller.

His mechanics are inconsistent. Watch his throws, some are textbook, with expected results. Then his next throw looks like he’s the bastard child of Bernie Kosar and Brett Saberhagen, and the ball goes exactly where you think it would: not where he wanted it to go.

Maybe the REC has him sabotaging Sark on purpose so he can come back to Tuscaloosa.

Maybe it is more a head game with him right now. Can you imagine the pressure to live up to after everyone has been salivating about him for the past 2 years and they almost gave him the Heisman trophy before the season started.

I was amazed when I saw him throw against Ohio State. His side arm motion essentially slinging the ball is a complete surprise after the enormous build up over the last two years.

Not sure about Sark anymore after watching last year with Ewer's and now Manning. Trophy wife and now huge marital problems. Is there a pattern there! He needs to get his head back on football.

So here we are, three weeks into the 2025 season, the Manning hype train has come to a complete stop!
Who would have guess that a QB who only played at a lower level competition during his whole HS career and ONLY attended his uncle's football camps wouldn't quite work out at the highest level of D1 football???
Its been said numerous times, if his name wasn't football royalty, would we be having this discussion at all?? Any other QB struggling as bad as Manning would already be benched and be done with it.
Mind you, he was the media darling who was tabbed the Heisman favorite in the pre season based on three performances against lesser talent at home last season. Many fans were really dumbfounded why that was the case, but his lineage was enough for the bias media to propelled boy wonder into the spotlight. I remembered watching Kirk Herbstreit discussing how his family decided that Texas was the best option for him under the tutelage of Sark and the plan was to bring him along slowly and this upcoming season was his moment to shine and the country was to witness the phenom as a full time starter.

I just chuckled after watching that segment.

I'm not even a QB coach and I can tell you his mechanics are bad. One of the things I know he's doing wrong is when he's at the end of his drop back, he goes completely flat-footed and stands straight up and then throws from that position. Even I know that is wrong. He's throwing from a completely flat-footed, dead still position. Among several other things is causing his inaccuracy.

He's hesitant on most throws - overthinking everything. He could straighten it out but that's usually hard to do in-season...

Do you think he may be injured? I have no doubt Lagway is for UF.
