Jeremy Pruitt seeks court order against NCAA to allow hire by FBS school [NCAA has Approved]

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

It's wild that everything he did that was cheating just a few years ago is completely legal now.

His modus operandi mirrors what his AD was doing back in the day. I'm not giving Jeremy a pass, but I believe Fulmer was both enabler and fink that threw him under the bus as the fall guy.

I just want to move on from Pruitt. There are other DCs out there that are good and dont have the baggage. And Im not certain that Pruitt has been humbled by his transgressions. And CKD doesn't seem like a coach who wants to manage prima donna assistants. Saban could do it but that doesn't seem like CKD mo.
Yeah I am ready to move on too. and this is coming someone from who loved his time at bama.

I think some people are forgetting when he was at Bama he has was stockpiled with veteran NFL talent on defense. Yeah he was a great recruiter in his day. But college football has changed a lot since he got blackballed from the sport.

That's true, but we were more so referring to Deboer dealing with Pruitt.. The thought of that being a reality is pretty sick IMO.
If coach Deboer wants a long tenure in the SEC he will have to learn how to deal with big personalities. If he has the success we all hope he has his staff will be poached and will have to be replaced with great coaches who often come with big egos/personalities.

I don't think it's possible to humble Pruitt. It's really hard to get him to comply with rules he doesn't like.

That said, as others have pointed out, there really aren't any rules anymore. The real question now is whether Pruitt would undermine his boss in order to get the boss's job. Not an NCAA violation because there are no rules to violate. But it does hurt organizational effectiveness -- IOW, winning on the field.

Is his undeniable ability to coach defense worth the organizational baggage? Tough call. I'd be curious how Pruitt interacted with other members of the staff.

Because of all of these things... I seriously doubt DeBoer has any interest in hiring him.

The day the NCAA rules fairly across the board on all infractions is the day I respect their authority. At present their death would benefit CF greatly as there would be a new order set up of the major conferences and ruled over by a commission. So if this would hasten their demise two words …. Bring it

I had some friends pretty close to the program at UGA when Pruitt was the DC there. This was pretty much the story there. Pruitt attempted to undermine Richt at every opportunity (although Richt was doing a pretty good job of screwing things up on his own at the time).
That entire 2015 season Pruitt was bending the ears of every influential booster he could find, lobbying to fire Richt and give him reigns.

He'll backstab the HC at JSU in two years and then be looking to have a flash in the pan season and get back to a major program.

One thing in coaching... Programs should consider that coaching retreads often have obvious baggage and issues, and that those things aren't going to change.
