I haven’t seen it in writing, but Sky News is reporting Reuters reported that U.S. had Intelligence that Iran was preparing a first strike. That was the reason the U.S./Israel launched a preemptive strike. Also the reason Iran launched counterstrikes so quickly. Take that for what it’s worth.

Iran does not need to return to the Shah (or Son of the Shah) government. No matter he is very pro Western. The Iranian people deserve the right to self determination. , not a puppet government. Trump, you may now have an opportunity to do something truly meaningful, don’t blow it. My hopes are not high on this.

Every American wants to point at the embassy as the beginning of this… however no one wants to point to the coup we had on Mossadegh in 1953 or our involvement and endorsement of Reza’s ousting of the communists. They may have acted savagely but we didn’t act noble or honorable either when we tried to determine their future in the post colonial era.
