The pic is of Darius Hanks....(you can right-click on the picture, select "properties", and the name of the picture is typically the name of the athlete)

Pretty sure Gibson is coming to Bama. I think Saban just wants to sign more than 1 WR IMO.
I agree on both points. I mean you think about our depth chart at WR, the majority of them will be upperclassmen this year. Time to replenish the ranks so to speak.

4.57 isn't exactly a burner... I would think he would be more of a 3rd down type... Then again, 40 times are often way off.
Which is apparently the case right here. Don't go by that listed 40 time on this kid, just look at the comments RTO has made regarding his speed. He's got speed there's no doubt about it.

Maybe it's just me, but when I saw he committed, I basically said, "Whooptedo". Not ranked by either rivals or scout. No stars on rivals and 2 stars on scout. It's just hard for me to get excited about anybody who is anything below 3 stars. I know I know, a lot of people don't like the star system, but hey, there's a reason they use it. I also know people love to claim that some players are "sleepers". That's usually what fans seem to say if your team is the one that signed the guy. Most other schools probably don't see it that way. This guy may turn out to be great (like DeMeco did), but I'm ready to see these slots being takin up by 4 and 5 star players. I'd hate to tell some of the late 4 and 5 star commits, "Sorry, no more slots here because we already have 2 and 3 star guys." Getting Underwood yesterday didn't excite me either the way it did everyone else. I trust what Saban's doing, but I look forward to the days where two stars are a thing of the past.

Saban doesn't use the star system. He uses the Chuck Norris Stamp of Approval System. I keed, I keed.

But, yeah, coaches don't use the star system. It's just for us junkies who wouldn't have anything else to talk about.

Hanks can burn. If it wasn't for an injury his senior year, he would be very highly rated. JC Shurbutt or Rivals.com said he'd be a high 3 or a low 4 if not for his injury/limited PT this year.

I totally understand where you're coming from. It's more exciting to get the Lorenzo Washington/Roy Upchurch type than the Wallace Gilberry/Lionel Mitchell come out of nowhere type of commits(pointed example). But I always tell myself the following to keep my head right:

"Who do you trust? Nick Saban or Jaimie Newberg?"

... i thought we had already established that

... wasn't "In Nick Saban We Trust" made the official motto?

The more I see of this kid, the more I think he is a under-the-radar top prospect that Bama may get lucky on. He has a Prothro feel about him, not a real big kid, but quick and fast with soft hands. If you have a rivals sub, check this video of him about half way through. He's up against three different corners and they can't cover him:
