The funny part about it is that if you go back and watch those games the players hit harder then than they do now.:BigA:

They knew leverage/form not just throwing yourself at someone. Its probably a little relative. No one was really that big e.g backs, etc.

I remember a game against Colorado back in the 70s I think. I thought Bama looked like a HS team compared to them. They killed us as I recall.

BamaFan9905 - yes- some of those you mention were simply good - no, they were great HIGH SCHOOL QB's ------- but none were not the hype we all thought as COLLEGE material & CERTAINLY NOT NFL players- note how none of them "made it"... and the comment that we often see about certain ones being "tough as nails" blah, blah - oh pooh - there are a couple who are just prima donna's - FOR SURE - there were some major hidden agendas with some of those you mentioned there...

The TRULY great QB's are those you see mentioned over & over on this thread....
