Don't be sanctimonious, LSU fans do the same thing. I don't if any collection of people not including Holtz himself can have as many comments that are crazy as he does.

It was meant as an insult to tigerdroppings. If you go on there, there are at least 5 threads on the first page saying Saban to LSU.

I loved CNS when he was here, but he's at Bama now and that's where he's staying. If he has any feelings for LSU now, it's disdain. It's time to move on. The ones typing all that garbage are either pot stirring, trolls, or delusional. And for people who don't know what that site is, it makes most LSU fans look worse than we really are.

Is there a Bama site that's like tigerdroppings?

There was an article today that said UM AD Bill Martin was scheduled to meet with CLM in Atlanta after the SECC game. It also said Martin was very decisive and would not take long in reaching a decision and that UM was willing to pay up to $3 million per year.

It is a given that somebody who knows somebody in charge at Michigan has for sure, already spoken with LM. Or all the rumors wouldn't be swirling around as they are. Where there is smoke there is at least something getting ready to burn. I personally think LM would be foolish not to sign a 5 yr deal w/ Michigan so he can start paving his own way. I would rather him to stay in the SEC than Tubby. I actually believe Tubby has done very good things for Auburn. Tubby to Arkansas really scares me since he would have the whole state to himself for recruiting.

Wow, is Perrilloux going to outlast Miles at LSU?

ATLANTA – This much we know.
-Ryan Perrilloux will start at quarterback today for LSU against Tennessee in the SEC championship game.

-LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini will be introduced as Nebraska’s new football coach on Monday.

-LSU head coach Les Miles will be offered the Michigan job soon – if he has not been already – and he will decide quickly if he wants to take it or not. He has not quite decided yet. I believe he will take it because that “M” means so much to him.

Which leaves us with this. Who would have ever thought that Perrilloux would outlast Miles at LSU? Several LSU athletic department employees, including members of the football staff, said all day Friday that Pelini had already accepted the Nebraska job. No one wanted their name used, however. But trust me, he’s gone.

I do find it interesting that the collective response from the LSU faithful to Miles' pending departure has been, largely, "Oh well." Honestly I cannot blame them. Miles is a pretty good coach, but there is no evidence to suggest he is that good, much less great. At best, he took over a great program with a ridiculous amount of talent at every position and largely continued much of the same success, despite not being able to pick up any valuable hardware in the process, unlike his predecessor.

As one of the moderators said earlier, for his sake, he is probably leaving at the right time. Despite all of the media hoopla surrounding the melodrama, Miles leaving LSU will likely not be that big of a loss for the Bayou Bengals. This is not like it was when A&M lost Bear Bryant 50 years ago, and in my opinion it is nowhere near the level of losing Dietzel to Army or Saban to Miami. I figure this is somewhere on par with losing Arnsparger to Florida, and in that scenario they didn't have a major loss. In that instance, however, the replacement hire (Archer) was a major bust, and it all went sour. As long as LSU can avoid another major bust in Miles' replacement hire, his loss should be nothing particularly bad for the Bayou Bengals.

Make no mistake about it, LSU will continue to do well. Their struggles from 1989-1999 were an aberration just like our struggles from 1997-2007 were an aberration. However, the past seven years have been the greatest stretch-run in the 115+ year history of LSU football, and as we all know, the glory days simply don't last into the long-term. Much like with real life, you have a few great days, a few terrible days, and most that fall somewhere in between. Just like Alabama cannot win another six national championships in eighteen years, it should not be expected that LSU will be able to continue the success they have had in the past seven years. The glory years are coming to an end, and I think Miles is essentially leaving at the peak time for him.

Again, they will still be good -- anyone legitimately believing otherwise is fooling themselves -- but the successes of the past few years, I think, will start to decline slightly in the coming years. I think it is a serendipitous situation for Miles that he is hearing Mama call at this particular time. There is no legitimate doubt that Miles is leaving for Michigan at the absolute pinnacle of his coaching career.

Coaching rumors: Miles leaving would be just the beginning

If Les Miles leaves LSU, it could set off a cataclysmic chain of events in the SEC.

There is talk Auburn's Tommy Tuberville would love the job. And I think Atlanta Falcons coach Bobby Petrino will get a look. Petrino also could be a player at Auburn, where there also still is speculation that Tuberville could be a guy at Arkansas.
