A better question would be what kind of numbers would McFadden be putting up if he wasn't sharing the load with Jones?
Or if his QB was, well, anyone except Casey Dick.
Or if Marcus Monk wasn't injured for a portion of the season.
I totally understand the Tebow argument. I hold absolutely no grudge for him not choosing Alabama. I hate two things about the arguments against D-Mac.
1. Arkansas wasn't as good as Florida.
Ok, Arkansas lost one more game than Florida with half the talent and a quarter of the depth. And half the coaching staff. To me, the fact that Arkansas did as well as they did speaks volumes for DMac. He almost single-handedly beat us.
2. Tebow's numbers are unrivaled in HISTORY!
So were Timmy Chang's and David Klingler's. Some is the system - that's not to say Tebow wouldn't be good in other systems, because he would. He just might not have 51 TDs. Doesn't Colt Brennan have that many?
Finally, my last soapbox is about how almost everyone I hear interviewed about who they think will win the Heisman says, "Darren McFadden is the best player in college football, but Tim Tebow will win."
Okay, done. Tebow will probably win it. He will have deserved it. I just think Darren McFadden will have gotten overlooked two years in a row.
