Has anyone else noticed the difference in Barn recruiting versus Bama recruiting? Based on reading various summaries from the recruits, here is what I imagine a weekend at the Barn is like:

- Arrive Friday night. Find a parking spot without running over too many piles of cow and sheep dung.

- Meet host and other recruits gathered outside the stalls.

- Decide where everyone wants to eat - Jack's or Hardees?

- Go eat and cruise around the countryside.

- Saturday arrives - rooster crows. Tour the campus for a couple of minutes ("Didja here we gots a couple new compooters?") and meet with coaches.

- Tour the empty D.C. office. Listen to coaches mention potential candidates - Buddy Ryan, Bum Phillips, etc.

- Tour the stadium. Throw the football around on the field while wearing your spiffy new AU sweatband autographed by Napolean Dynamite.

- Meet for dinner at the stadium. All the hotdogs and chips you can eat.

- Sunday: Head over to Tub's place - largest house on the plains. Find the Lazyboy with your jersey # painted on it and watch some Dukes of Hazzard reruns with Tubs. Get irritated at Tubs after he asks you to adjust the rabbit ears for the fifth time.

- Late Sunday afternoon: Meet with Barn press. Answer the following question - "How was your visit based on the following scale: 1 = a stick in the eye, 10 = bitten by a snake?"

- Gas up the car and drive as fast as you can.

What about when they bring you in Tubbs office and let you try on the 2004 Eufaula Tribune People's Choice National Championship Ring and Tubby tells the recruit "son if you sign with Aubarn you might get to own one of these".

CNS has been responsible for a huge upgrade in our recruiting, but let's not go overboard.

To get to 27 Rivals 4 or 5 stars for CNS, you'd have to count Kerry Murphy twice plus give CNS credit for Rolando McClain, Alex Watkins, Chris Lett, and Alfred McCullough who all committed to Alabama the summer before CNS was hired.

No one is going overboard. Just stating the facts. Last year Nick Saban recruited 11 players. Of the eleven, seven were 4 star.

This year coach Saban has recruited 17 four and five star players. That total would be 28. I did not count Kerry twice.

Not really sure what going overboard means. In relationship to what?
Did you mean 24 instead of 28???

Yes. Its late. I did go back and research the info. The point being made is Coach Saban has done in just over a year what Coach Shula took 4 to accomplish. This is not about counting people twice, its about recruiting the best players necessary to win a National Title. 24 or 28 four or five star recruits in just over a year is clearly an eye opener that many coaches are unable to achieve.

He also hasn't had to deal with sanctions. I know CNS has done an excellent job but CMS didn't do terrible. Everyone here was pumped about his signing classes because we thought we were getting great players. Unfortunately we had a lot of kids that never panned out.

I wasn't questioning your info Irish. I was just wondering if you had made a typo on the total. But i agree 100000000000% that CNS has recruited tremendously for Bama since his arrival at the Capstone.
