This may not be the answer, but unless it’s 3rd and 10+ I don’t think he should ever have his hand on the ground. Stand him up, move him around. Make offenses react to him, not the other way around.
Also, I’ll say this. I’ve been on here long enough to see some ups and downs.

IRT Trey, he doesn’t look real fast but appears to choose to angles and cuts very naturally. Defenders just couldn’t get to him, particularly on the outside runs.
