    JW Back in Oz

Jesse arrived back in Australia today with plenty of fanfare. Media all over him which is huge for a country not that into it. Here is a story from our local tv news. http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/video.aspx?videoid=7d176d72-6ec5-4513-9119-23d2404b548c

Jesse Williams gets to speak with Australian Prime Minister

Ha. There is only 1 Jesse Williams! but we have 3 others at Juco, and 2 in Us high schools, not bad from one youth program in Australia. I know we can send a punter or a kicker. 3 SEC teams will have Aussie punters next year, and not all trouble like LSU#38.

Jesse Williams gets to speak with Australian Prime Minister

Yeah, I am still here. Enjoyed every minute of the game, except the minute JW was hurt. Most Aussies would rather meet @thamonstar than the Prime Minister anyway, so she went for street cred. It has been a great cpl of years watching the Tide from up close and afar, and I will continue to be...

I enjoyed seeing the Tide take care of business and was lucky enough to spend it in fine company with the family of everyone's favourite #54. I have enjoyed spending the past 2 years following with even greater interest than previously. Tuscaloosa and the great Bama fans will always be part of...

Highly impressed with Coach Doug Nussmeier's playcalling.

I did think we got away from the run too much in the third qtr. it had been successful in he first half, so to ignore it was a mistake that could have cost. Final drive obviously was great, perhaps as much execution as play calling. Enjoying the offense being more explosive this year for sure...

****Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Mizzou****

Undoubtedly my favourite thing of the coverage was the ridiculous map they showed to illustrate 'how far Jesse had come'. I will excuse the not getting Brisbane in the right spot, but it was hilarious to see the suggestion that rather than fly over the pacific ocean to the US, that he flew...

How I became a Crimson Tide Fan

In about 1992 I picked up a copy of Football Digest in the bookstore with Curry and Copeland on the cover. Growing up in Brisbane, Australia, that was a Rare find. Followed their progress but it was a 6'4 320lb Monstar that really got me in. Gameday at BDS last year cemented it.

Jesse Williams article from Aussie paper

For all of our great qualities as Australians, there is a horrible 'tradition' of what we call 'tall-poppy syndrome'. Cutting ppl down if they get 'too big'. Comments on this article reflect some of that. Ignorance reigns supreme sometimes.

News Article: Family of Brisbane-born NFL champ Jesse Williams get inked with Alabama University lo

In regard to the 'NFL Champ' comment. What you have to realise that often, 'NFL' is the tag given to any american football. It works also here in our Australian Football League (AFL) so that even though the sport is Australian Rules Football, many would call a kid that is a standout footballer...

    Brisbane, Australia Viewing Party

ROLL TIDE NATIONAL CHAMPS! It was amazing to watch the game, albeit in 100degree heat today, and Australia has never seen such a collection of Crimson and White! Those of us with BDS experience tried to bring the atmosphere to the party with the chants, cheers and the right music. What proud...
