LOL, during that defensive substitution that OSU did in slow motion, the player leaving the field started to sprint then suddenly slowed down as if someone on the sideline told him to take his sweet time.

Receivers for UT have been wide open and the UT quarterback actually threw a couple of bad incompletions.

I absolutely love this substitution strategy by the defense now.
I absolutely hate it. That is so barnish, trying to bend the rule and see how far they can get away with it. The one time I agree with Matt Austin should have been the delay of the game on the defense. Then again, Sark owned up to his mistake by not calling a timeout.

You must’ve missed the years that the offenses got away with so much because of inept, out of shape officials.

Not to mention the lack of holding calls, the terrible pass interference calls, and just an overall disregard for the defensive aspect of football. Any and all attempts to strike back at this abomination of college football I will support.

Texas substituted that last offensive player with 17 seconds remaining in the play clock. I don't know how much time should be allowed for the defense to respond to the substitution and to get new defensive players on the field and old players off. Texas ended up with only one second to snap.

Looks like no help from Okie State. May not matter much what happens with us and UGA as far as the playoffs are concerned. Hate it, but an SEC championship and beating UGA would not be a bad consolation prize.

I'm well aware of all the other bad and missed calls; it's just that the strategy by weaker teams is so barnish-like.

and taking advantage of older, slower, out of shape officials isn't?

The hurry up is part of the rules of football that is being exploited, why aren't you calling them barnish?

We lost to Texas because Milroe wasn't ready. He was lost out there. Now things are different.
I've been thinking about this. I'm not sure the team as a whole was ready to handle what Alabama gets in the second week of their schedule most years. I'm not sure there was a leadership hierarchy in place to handle a team with comparable talent who spent the entire off season preparing for that game. Not much Saban can do about scheduling, but I don't think it was just Milroe who wasn't prepared.

Would you swap a loss to Auburn in week 2 for a win over Texas last week? I'm beginning to think I might.

There are a lot of things I don't like about the way the games are being played and managed now. I was just talking about the Barnish substitute rule that we can agree or disagree on. You love it, and I don't. Simple as that. One thing we can agree on is that we beat the pups today. Peace!

I have commented to friends that Texas had spent all summer and the first 2 weeks of the season prepping for Alabama. Our team had polished off a bad MTSU and thought they were in a better place than they were. I feel like that loss kind of galvanized this team. Had we not lost that game, we likely lose 2 more somewhere else in the schedule because of where the mental aspect of the team would have been.

OSU played well and OU played badly, simply put. This is the same OSU that South Alabama beat - badly. They are not good - but the “any given Saturday” still jumps up every now and then.
