Re: 2007 Alabama Prospect List (updated) with discussion and articles

it appears the staff will take his commitment b/c he will graduate in December.....looks like he's done well as a free safety. He'll be going on both O and D this year apparently, too.

Re: 2007 Alabama Prospect List (updated) with discussion and articles

QB Mike Paulus still has us in a top 5 with UT, So Cal, UNC, and Syracuse.

If he visits us, I'll consider us a player, but right now I'd give the edge to USC and UNC.

Hey RTO, will Ricks have three years to play two, or just two years of eligibility? Nevermind, found your answer on another post.

Hey rto could you give us an early prediction on qb prospects
and who you really think we may sign as a qb? You sounded
a couple of months ago like we could be in for a treat
as far as a highly rated/profiled top 10 in the nation qb.
What I wanna know is whether we will realistically/probably
will finally sign a big named guy as a qb. Either way besides all of these
star rankings I do wanna win regardless but I was really excited
a while back hearing of all the huge named qb prospects listing us
in their top 5. Most recently about 4 of the big named qbs had
released a committment early but I'm uncertain about who else is out
there as far as big names goes in qbing. Are there any big names left
that we have an excellent shot at outside of this state like a Mitch Mustain
or etc... and by an excellent shot I mean someone being REALLY interested
not just "oh yea they're in my top 5". I just felt that surely since we lost both the T named qb down in gainsville and mustain that surely this coming recruiting season things would finally go our way with stars. In other words we would finally after all these sanctions get a big named star which could also in turn help us publically turn around with other recruits. Today I read on a thread below where UF is now trying to recruit this other guy against us called Garcia. Its really starting to make me wonder why we wouldn't be able to do what we want/wrap up player from them this time around considering the qb recruit race with uf over TT last time/homebody. I know and I also realize its very very early and I'm by no means going nuts/panicking but I'm interested at this time in hearing your broad theories on this aspect. I've also been very curious about the coming year considering your recent info on our cherry picking scheme this time around. Just wondering and any info would be appreciated.

I really like our chances with McKenzie. He says that he is very, very close to committing to us, and he is Mike Ford's cousin. :)

Yeah, this guy looks like he could be a player. Apparently he won the MVP at the NIKE camp in Miami and you know there had to be a ton of talented players there.

I like his attitude and his apparent excitement about playing for the Crimson Tide.

Very impressive numbers/stats. Sounds like a good one!

I noticed that Anthony Morgan the big OL from Texas has committed to LSU. I was under the impression he was a heavy lean to OU, didn't see this one coming. Also Chris Forcier has committed to UCLA.

Anyone have any info on the Lett kid from Florida he has some nice size for a corner back 6'1/205 and runs a 4.5. He has us in his top 4.

Well based on his size, and if that forty time is accurate, he looks like a candidate for a position change. Maybe LB if he put on a little more weight, or more likely S.

Re: 2007 Alabama Commitments & Prospects List (updated) with discussion and articles

It would be nice, if all of this excitement was over some DT's and LB's personally, especially with the amount of schollies we have to offer this year. Not to say WR isn't possibly our 3rd or 4th area of need behind FB. But you better be the cat's meow to get a DB offer from the coaching staff this year, same for OL. I think Christian Smith is an exception bc he could possibly play 3 or 4 positions on the field.

no offer yet from Bama.....I think the kid is destined for LB. He's not a corner at the college level.

its May.....give it time. The only people that have offers right now are the cream of the crop on the staff's list, and odds are, the same on other teams list. They are getting tons of attention, calls, texts, meeting with their HS coaches. The coaches can't even make one-on-one contact right now, either.

Re: 2007 Alabama Commitments & Prospects List (updated) with discussion and articles

Well now according to Scout, Anthony Morgan isn't committed to LSU. Go figure, I guess he must have had a change of heart. Also, Scout doesn't list him as having much interest in OU either.

Two words: DALLAS WALKER. Scout boards are on fire for this guy and he is apparently just waiting for a Bama offer. 6'6", 205 QB from small MS private school. Arm is apparently a shoulder-mounted howitzer and he had a good showing at the Scout combine this past weekend in T-town. Rumor has it he flat-out rejected Coach Orgeron's early offer. RTO, what have you got on him?

prying for info at the moment

Re: 2007 Alabama Commitments & Prospects List (updated) with discussion and articles

I saw another guy that had good numbers from this past weekends combine. Josh Cragin, a LB from Fort Walton Beach FL. Checked in at 6-2 211 and ran a 4.53 40 which was the second fastest 40 for a LB by .01 of a second. He and Jonathan Beasley (who had the fastest 40 time) really had good numbers and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the mix at LB.
