Well, I had 4 generations of Tide Fans in attendance for this A-Day. The 11 month old stole some cheerleaders hearts. ;)

Simpson is the guy right now. Lonergan should see a lotta reps in the fall. Love Milroe but he’s not it.

Justice Haynes is straight up BEAST. If he can block it’s gonna be hard to keep him off the field.

DB’s were the the most SEC game ready group. Malachi looked really good. Kool Aid is a sure fire first rounder.

Still concerned about the O-line but seems a bit more consistent.

Yeah, WR drops are still issue but there were several lazy routes as well. Seems to be a lack of concentration and discipline in this group.

At the moment I’m about 80% “feel good” about making it to Atlanta.

ROLL TIDE!

Watch the highlights (don't have cable, anymore, just Roku):

1. All the QB's show they have ability but not the consistency to start. Fall practice will be interesting to see. Despite some internet rumors of Bama being linked to the Miami Hurricanes QB, I hope Alabama stick with what they got. Bama has always been at their best when they developed their own. With that said, I still believe Bama has a better QB situation than GA.

2. Justice Haynes is going to be a problem for defenses. Health withstanding, RB position should be fun to watch this year.

3. If/when Bama gets stable at QB, Malik Benson is going to be fun to watch. But the rest of the WR's better learn to catch the ball.

Despite what Scarbinksy thinks, Bama has more than enough talent to win the title this year.

That’s like shooting a 12 point buck first time you go hunting… it’s never going to get better than that!

Welp, spring ball is over. Now we enter the annual sweat it out, car wreck/arrest / transfer portal period. Like every year, here`s hoping that the majority of a group of 18-21 year olds can exercise at least a modicum of good judgement and not put themselves and/or others in compromising, if not life threatening, situations for the next three months or so.

Maybe it is just an issue when the public is watching?
Let's play the game with no fans and no tv cameras and they can just announce the results when finished.
Reminds me of a story Coach Stallings once told about a kicker who was struggling in practice. Coach Stallings asked him why he was having such a difficult time focusing. He said, Coach, it's because you are standing there watching me. Coach Stallings said, well son, I hate to tell you but I'm going to be there watching at every single game.

I was fairly pleased with the QB play overall. We were not running the offense that we will be running in the fall, and the QB's weren't live. Also, they were under major pressure most of the day. Lonergan looked very good for a freshman. If they all just make incremental progress each day, we should be ok. I trust the process.

That's actually an old John McKay quote - he was quite humorous.

“Please inform Mr. Rajecki that I plan to attend all games.”
- Bucs coach John McKay on place-kicker Pete Rajecki, who said he became nervous when McKay watched him kick.

I think it has already been mentioned, but the defense was bringing a crapLOAD of pressure for long periods of the game. That INT Milroe threw from out of the end zone. There was some type of delayed blitz by an outside corner or safety and he was about to (in theory) light up Milroe.

So I'll be the jerk that makes the comment that if a delayed blitz (that you know can't even actually hit you) causes that throw just imagine how bad it could be in live action.

I'll also offer the counter, as I'm sure someone would if I didn't say it, but that's when Jalen's legs could be dangerous.

Totally agree...our defense has a chance to be extra special and deep...
Just think - two five star (I thought YP was a four but an article I read earlier said five) edges, two (very possibly) All American LB’s who didn’t play.
Us old-schoolers still remember that sound byte from the sidelines from a former player during a game who’s now a head coach in the NFL:
WE PLAY DEFENSE AT ALABAMA!
This might be the year that brings it back.
