2025 Recruiting: 2025 Recruiting Targets, II

I think, much more than ever, the quality of your recruiting class will be judged by who remains after the first two years. With the portal, unrestricted transfer, and NIL, I can see a time in the future where 50% or more of signing class has “moved on” after two years.

The overall impact of the signing class will be determined by the handful of kids that decide to stay for three or more years.

There you go injecting logic and long-term analysis into what we want to be immediate hot takes.

What a buzzkill.

Seriously, you're absolutely right and I think DeBoer's staff will do a better job developing talent than any of Saban's last three.

They still have to do it, but I'm cautiously optimistic that our program will be one of the beneficiaries of that.

This is where I think CKD will "make hay" and shorten the transition curve for taking over for Saban. Saban's staffs weren't that good on the back end of his career.

I get the feeling that our recruiting effort will solidify, maybe flip some folks, after the season begins and the world gets a view of what kind of football team we are (offensively and defensively). This team has a hunger and it starts with the coaching staff. Alabama is going to be the hottest team on the gridiron again and this is only the beginning.

Our recruiting is solid right now. But our fans can't stop reading auburn Twitter accounts and can't seem to remember the run in June and July. Like goldfish.
