So sad, I feel for the families.

We as a society need to step up, to many stories of someone with a gun doing something stupid, and fights that attempt to kill.

These thugs need to see serious time.

A horrible tragedy. Recruits that were evidently at this gathering are tweeting that the initial brawl was over stupid stuff( not the exact word that they used). Once all the facts come out, one has to wonder how much the thug culture that has been in place down there for over three yrs now had to do with this.

Sad....
Unfortunately, they don't have the franchise on this type stuff. A similar type thing happened at Jackson St. U earlier this spring. Also, a famous Tide LB was recently sentenced for shooting by a guys head. Not the time to point fingers, but the time to say "enough". Young men, get as far away from this culture and lifestyle as you can. Otherwise, it will swallow you up.

Somehow we moved from "the best revenge is a life well lived", through beating the daylights out of somebody, to simply killing them. Awful.

And this really could happen anywhere, I hope nobody here starts riffing on "Thug U". It's not even a football thing, a southern thing, or a racial thing, the great tragedy is this particular sub-culture is everywhere. Here in Madison, a year ago, a 13-year old walked into Bob Jones High School and shot another 13-year old in the back of the head. Dreadful, now his well-to-do mom and dad are in trouble trying to flee the country with him. Anybody can get 'captured' by this gang-like lust for violence. To quote an apropos song, "One life wasted and the other a waste".

I Bleed Crimson Red blog has a reddit link with eyewitness accounts. Sounds horrific and appears to have started after a fist fight over a girl. Recruits and football players there. What is wrong with people to make them have no regard for the lives of others? So sad.

So very, very sad and of course, my prayers are with the family and friends of the victims. This Thug culture won't stop until people are willing to "snitch" and tell the police who are doing what.

New dress code seems to be got car keys, got wallet, got cell phone, got gun.

According to Yahoo -- it appears to have been a fight that broke out over a woman......one of the men who were in the fight has quotes about how it all went down....

They also had pictures of the complex where it took place.......

Sad, very sad.......

Desmond Howard's twitter account has a link to a blog that was updating things last night by the minute -- pretty intense situation from the sounds of it. The sad part, is that there are soooo many who want to avoid the lifestyle, but due to unchangeable circumstances -- the lifestyle finds them.....reading their posts -- it makes you wish you could get them safely to a place where they can live safely.

This news hits like a ton of bricks. Wish it would never have happened. Not much you can say about this, I just hope the families and friends of the victims find peace.

This isn't a "sub-culture" thing either. Men have been getting into senseless arguments and letting them escalate into something deadly since the dawn of man. This is especially true of young men getting into a fight over a woman.

Read any ancient text, especially the Bible, and you'll see that senseless deaths due to overreactions didn't originate with any "sub-culture". Cain didn't kill Abel because he was trying to be gansta.

Actually it would be very easy to produce a safe environment for everyone but law enforcement and the public don't have the fortitude to actually do anything. So instead we light candles and hold vigils while the idiot thugs keep killing people and screwing up society.

I should probably point out that down south this isn't so common. However, in Baltimore this is almost a nightly occurrence and most civilized people around here are completely sick of dealing with it and just want it to go away.
