Because i read everything on this site I know how you guys feel about Tn., the ncaa, CPF, the SEC, and so on. But to me there is nothing more exciting in cfb than the Ala.-Tn. showdown in Oct. I hope one day we can all put everything behind us and have the respect and class that this old rivalry deserves. It will be hard to do, but when we do,we will enjoy the game-rivalry like it should be ejoyed. I love the 3rd Sat. in Oct more than anything the sports world has to offer.

What will be especially interesting is the first time the 3rd Saturday in October is played on the first Saturday in December.

I can't even begin to imagine the environment that matchup would create.

The Bama vs UT game was once the highlight of our schedule for me. It was a game I looked forward to each year. It's such a shame that has been taken from the fans by a few scum bags.

up until phil played dirty politics and did his thing, the Tennessee rivalry was tops to me (I always respected Tenn)...now I have lost that respect...maybe it will regain it's luster one day, but I don't see it happening for a generation or two down the road...those of us alive today will remember how shody the effort of phil and the boys...he tainted everything...and I truly believe a day of reckoning will come to the volnation...to many close calls with the law and ncaa violations...it's coming...

The 3rd Saturday in October has always been and will always be the highlight of the schedule for me. Maybe it's because I'm a Tennessee native, but it's always been a bigger game to me than even Auburn. For me, the events over the past few years have only underscored that fact. Bring 'em on!!!!

After reading some of the Cottrell files, it looks like I have been hating the wrong guy from Tennessee. It looks like Benedict Kramer the head of the SEC was the one guy that could plot and hang Bama. You do have to hate CPF for his record and efforts to throw rocks at Bama, but without the help of the SEC there is no way CPF can succeed.

Just remember something my mother always quoted "People in glass houses should not throw stones."

I'll be there...I'll be the one in orange :)

We're heading down early on Friday...Should be in around noon...

SHould be fun...The last trip I took to Tuscaloosa was a blast

Good to see you guys comin' back around. Gonna be a good football season...keep comin' back, ya hear??!

I'll be in the Smokies on a hiking trip camping at about 6000' when kickoff comes. I'll be camping with fans of UA, Ark, AU, UT, Kansas, UF, and Michigan. The only downside will be having to listen to the game on the UT radio network.

It's only perceived to have been taken because some fans have allowed scumbag attorneys, glory-hog talkshow hosts and some misguided fans to put the focus on other things. It's time for the real fans to take it back. This rivalry does not have to be about attorneys, or boosters or who said what. It's only about those things if that's what you focus on.

It's about one of the greatest college football rivalries in the country. The coaches know that. The players know that. Fortunately, many of us fans still know that and can put the rest behind us. Let's not forget why we were drawn to Alabama and SEC football in the first place. The sooner we all quit trying to blame people for past problems and let go of the hatred and bitterness that has consumed way too many fans, the sooner we can return to the pure joy of watching the greatest show on earth - the Tommy Gallion Show, er, I mean SEC football.

By the way, glad to be here.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to listen to Bob Kesling

Hey RBVOLS & TENNESSEE...I am not one who cares about

the off-the-field crap and still love the rivalry. My only wish is that we can all get back to those days when the rivalry was respectful but very, very competative. My guess is that for most that may not happen until Phil Fulmer either admits the errors of his ways or until he's fired.

By the way...I am not saying that he was wrong in his conclusions...just that he attempted to not only hurt the University, but players and their families as well. I think that you can turn in another University you feel is cheating and still do it while maintaining professionalism and Phil sorely missed the boat on that one.

It would be great however, if ALL of the legal crap would STOP and we could just get back to football! If UT does go down for anything it will just be another black eye for the SEC and we don't need it. The better the Vols are and the better the Tide is, is what the SEC is all about! We've always been (over the generations, not necessarily the decades) the two top SEC teams and when we're not playing each other for titles...it is bad for the SEC.

I have been to the UA/UT game the past two years. It has been a blast each time except for the results. The fans on both sides were gracious to each other and did not cause any problems. I was surrounded by UT fans at Neyland last year and having them around made the game more enjoyable for us and we had pretty good conversation during the game.

If it were up to me, we would not play Tennessee as long as Fulmer is affiliated with them.

No respect for him from me.

I have to agree, and there is plenty of blame for both sides to share. I'm glad the most obvious characters from Bama have been purged, now if UT and some other schools would just do the same.

Come on everyone, would it not be a sweeter victory to beat up on UT with Phil there and his team 100%. I want victory with no excusses, and I will get more pleasure watching Phil leave the field with his eyes DOWN :biggrin2:

Long for the Days

When 3rd saturday was more about the players and the final results but Phats and Kramer have put a large obstacle in the way. Phats by not following the rules in regard to dealing with allegations of cheating and his deciding to become fatlock instead of what he was hired to do and that is coach players. Kramer for his warning all other schools off AM except Alabama and for walking lockstep with Phats in all of this.

Loss of schollys, bowl games the turmoil of losing coaches (some related to above stated reasons) it will take a few good victories over the men in orange with the great pumpkin walking the sidelines to make me forget and return to normalcy but then again I am a hardliner :)
