I think he us definately looking around. Baylor isn't exactly a recruiting powerhouse and for them to take the 3rd ranked 5-star S in the country would just be odd to me. It would be great for them but unless this guy just really, really, really wants to stay at home I think he goes somewhere else. Baylor is in Waco and that is where Dixon is from. I don't think he comes to BAMA but I think the reality of him making it to the NFL through Baylor are less than say TX, BAMA, etc. He was originally a TX commit but then switched his commit in May to Baylor, saying he wanted to be a part of Baylor becoming a contender in the Big 12(choke, cough, busting out laughing). Baylor coach has pumped him full of sunshine and rainbows. But now the facade is wearing off and he is beginning to see the truth. Sorry Baylor but this...Scout.com is not going to compete with TX and OU. He seems to not be able to make his mind up. But him leaving the state of TX looks to be out of the question. He says he wants to play in his hometown so even if he doesn't play at Baylor I don't see him leaving TX he'll end up back at TX or TT.

Plus, if he's going to be attending anymore Baylor games this year, their play-making QB just got hurt (out for the year)? He may change his mind...

The news that S Ahmad Dixon is opening up or softening his commitment to Baylor and taking visits, including visiting Bama is a good thing. If Bama could get him to go along with the current list of committed DBs it would undoubtedly be the top DB signing class.

Don't be surprised if this kid switches again. And our biggest competition might not be Baylor. It may come that from that little redneck college in SW GA.

He sounds like an excellent player but it seems like we are getting pretty deep at the Safety position. We have Barron, Green, Lester and Woodson from the last two classes. We already have at least two commits in this class who will probably end up at Safety with a lot of prospects being mentioned. I wonder how many would be the number we need on the roster?

He's a great prospect, it'll be interesting to see how things play out with him. Conventional wisdom would be that if Texas gets back in it they'd be tough to beat, but he's already passed on them once so it certainly wouldn't appear to be a slam dunk type of thing in any event. Getting him on an official visit certainly can't hurt our chances that's for sure.

I've been ready some amazing stuff from Auburn boards about Ahmad Dixon. Apparently some of them think that Dixon is pretending to have interest in Alabama, but is an Auburn "silent". Then Chizik can claim a recruiting victory. They're also saying the same thing about Travon Reed and LSU. Its amazing people would believe this.

Dixon is really one to keep your eye on. I think it's clear he is not going to end up at Baylor, and I kind of think he is probably not going back to Texas either.

My only concern is that with Nick Perry and Jarrick Williams already in this class, our depth situation at safety will hurt us here. Furthermore, with Barron, Green, Lester, and Woodson already at safety, it's not like we are hurting for depth there as it is. Even without Woodall, we still have a very talented two-deep rotation at safety, and every single one of those guys will still have two (or more) years of eligibility remaining at the beginning of the 2010 season.

And that is, of course, before Perry and Williams come in, and it is also assuming that Blake Sims does not play safety.

He looks like a gamer. If he is awesome he could very easily see early playing time at safety.
sorry, but did you not see BET's post? we are pretty set at safety, even after Justin Woodall leaves. Barron is already starting as a sophomore, I believe. Robby Green is seeing alot of time. Plus there is still guys like Rod Woodson who are great players and will be fighting for time. On top of all that, we have two safeties committed in this class already. So the depth we have at safety could very well scare him off.

Its all in how you look at it really. The only 2 proven safeties next year will be Barron and Green and they're still trying to prove themselves right now. They're gonna be juniors next year and its gonna be important to have depth in the backfield (not saying a freshman will give it though, but we won't have much that is proven). And of the safeties in this class, well its equal playing ground. A competitor with his talent has to like his chances to win favor against guys in the exact same situation of trying to come in and compete for PT as he is, and they all should feel that way.

Just saying, when it comes to some sort of playing time in our secondary next year there are opportunities all over the field.

A visit to bama and he sees the facilities, he meets the great Bama players and sees how comitted they are to winning a N. C., All the beautiful ladies in Tuscaloosa, and last but not least will be when his mama finds out how dedicated to academics Coach Saban is. The National Championship ring with the big "A" in the middle of all those diamonds would look good on his finger and he knows it. ROLL TIDE
