Alabama QB competition article

Re: Alabama QB competition article (ALL QB posts here, please)

Whether it's 2 or 13 taking the 1st snap I DON'T CARE!!!

It won't matter. We'll win big with either. I think both will play in the 1st 2 games then QB1 will emerge for Ole Miss.

I'm just glad it's finally game week!!!!

RTR!!!

Re: Alabama QB competition article (ALL QB posts here, please)

My inside sources have me getting the start Saturday. My upside is great. The competition has no tape on me. I'm pretty small so they'll never know what I'm doin back there. I have the physique of a kicker struggling with type 2 diabetes, so it's a toss whether i'll kick the ball, hand it off, or do the unthinkable and fumble it forward for a touchdown.

I never turn it over because as soon as I catch the snap I put the ball under my shirt and tuck it in real tight. Can't drop it if you're not even really holding it.

There are only benefits and no drawbacks to me starting this game.

Bama by 60. Coach pulls me at the half.
America has seen enough.
The media calls for the Heisman.
I decline and graciously give way to Tua or Hurts.
I deny being a God, but fans insist. It's flattering. I concede.

lol
Saban is not a man for excess. He’s a millionaire whose greatest joy in life may be a dry, factory-produced snack cake that’s available at gas stations.
Saban makes me wonder if the Galactic Empire would have beaten the Rebellion if it had devoted its ample resources to perfecting the systematic, day-to-day crushing of freedom in the galaxy instead of to building a flashy laser that blew up planets. (RUN THE DANG BALL, DARTH!)

Dallas Warmack's comment says it for me..."I've been waiting on this storm." RTR!!!
I didn't see the caption. Now that I've read the caption and put into context of the picture. I take it as "The Storm" in part is Tua and the players already know who will be behind center Saturday.

Re: Alabama QB competition article (ALL QB posts here, please)

3 things (I'm happy to rejoin the repeat parade - it's often my MO anyway.):

- Saban has said repeatedly - I want a distributor of the ball

- Saban has said repeatedly - whoever wins the team. Did anyone watch the beginning of the 2nd half before Tua even took a snap - the team was buzzing with a great infusion of energy. Both sides of the ball. Then Bama scored 26 points in one possession more than a half after being shutout, hardly coming close to a score. They should have won in regulation. WRs and RBs unfortunately had publicly show frustration with Jalen throughout the season. However wrong their public display was, stats certainly show why there was frustration. Who has this team of kids who above almost all are competitors, who do they want to be their QB ?

- almost by universal acclamation, Tua has performed better overall during fall camp.

Who do you think the best coach of all time, the most aware public persona most of us have ever seen, a detail oriented, hands-on HC who has the pulse of his team, who do you think he is going to play ? It's difficult to even see him play around with it. He never does that until the game is well in hand.

Re: Alabama QB competition article (ALL QB posts here, please)

Paul Finebaum tweeted what Herbstreit said on his show: "If I see Tua trot out there for the first snap, I'll just say to everyone 'I'm sorry' because it's going to be a long year and they're going to score literally 45-50 every game."

I respect KH opinion about as much as anybody's in the college football media. He's been consistent in saying if CNS plays Tua that we are going to be scary good on offense for the first time in addition to having the crazy good defense we always have.
