Alabama QB competition article

Ur right about that. Jimbo only takes QB's who can withstand heat but put it behind them the very next play. He would not see the field at ATM
You mean like fumbling his first snap as a college QB and bouncing right back? You mean like having Bama one defensive stop from winning a NC against Deshaun Watson's Clemson Tigers? If not for Tua being naturally so talented, we are not even having this conversation. Despite Jalen's weaknesses, he is nothing but a winner.

U only have 2 examples out of 2 years to make your point

I can't believe this is even a part of the conversation here. I am a huge proponent of Tua starting who thinks it would be best for everyone if Jalen transferred, but to imply in any way that Jalen gets rattled easily is crazy. His demeanor seems to never change, whether he runs a TD or throws an incompletion. I haven't seen that kid rattled yet. His coolness under pressure is one of the big things I have always appreciated about him.

I believe people have suggested he should transfer.... but I've always thought that IF Saban can find a role for Jalen, then it can work and will benefit Jalen. I expect Tua and Jalen to play a lot this season. Don't forget if the game are up 20-0, We will see Jalen in the game often.

WOW!! Seriously??? Have you missed the entire second half of both 2016 and 2017???

Jalen hasn't been the same QB since the 2016 LSu game.

A lot of people have suggested that he "Should" transfer. I think it's the worst thing he could do, IF he still wants to take a shot at an NFL Career.

IF his goal is just to play in college, then yea - he should leave as soon as possible. And I fully expect he WILL transfer - the only question in my mind is whether he moves on in August or waits until January.

But IMO the BEST thing Jalen could do is try to learn another position. I realize NOT ALL AGREE.

But the bottom line is that Jalen has a ZERO Chance of playing QB in the NFL - it's just not going to happen for him. IF he could learn some other position, MAYBE he'd at least have a chance...... And the best possible place for him to learn and get positive exposure would be at Alabama. There's nowhere he could go and have a better "supporting cast" around him - and that makes Everyone look better.

I get what you're saying. But, at first this was looked at as a feature but looking at it now could be viewed as a bug. It's great that he has a cool demeanor and doesn't get rattled but there's a time and place to increase the intensity and rally the troops so to speak. The "cool demeanor" kind of loses it's veil when Jalen plays like he did in the last 4 games vs LSU, AU, Clemson and then first half of UGA. Yes, he doesn't get rattled per say but he also doesn't really inspire the team or the offense. We really don't know how Jalen would react to throwing multiple INTs in a game because he's so risk adverse. I'd almost call his demeanor risk adverse rather than cool under pressure..

Its really hard to tell someones personality/leadership style/demeanor and the impact of that on the team over a few interviews and watching him play. Thats just not something that is easy to gauge unless you are in the locker room. From what I can tell Jalen seems fine off the field. On the field is his struggle.

I am not talking about his skill or lack thereof when it comes to passing. You seem to be confusing the two things. To be clear, we are in agreement that Tua should be our guy, and I have been thinking Jalen was in way over his head for a long time. But he is still a cool customer when it comes to his demeanor on the field. I have no idea what is going on in his head, but his expression almost never changes. Maybe you have too much anti-Jalen bias to be objective about this.
