Re: Alabama QB competition article (ALL QB posts here, please)
Said this earlier in the thread, but it wasn't as clear during the middle of the season as it is right now. We've got this mounting pile of evidence as "proof" a change was needed, but during the season, despite his lack of passing aptitude, Jalen was still getting the job done.
Also remember the CNS's comments about Tua going 54 out of 58 in practice happened when Jalen was sick leading up to the Clemson game.
So hindsight, as they say, is always 20/20, but it's a harder call in "real time."
One question I'd like to ask CNS today is, knowing what you know now, would you have played Tua against Auburn? I think if Tua plays in that game we probably win it. I'm glad the season turned out like it did, but I felt like we were the superior team that day, despite out injuries and Jalen was the weak link.
I don't want this to sound as if I'm complaining about one of the best coaches ever, cause I'm beyond thrilled with his record. But, I am curious as to others' thoughts on why no change was made sooner.
