If we can be one of the select few teams to break 14 on you guys I'll be freaking thrilled. Personally I'd rather we'd rest our starters for the playoffs but if I know guys like Coach Monken and Brent Russell, they're gonna want to try and win this game. Top 5 FBS team or no. As long as we get out with no key injuries I'm fine.

Actually the real reason it's not tried more in the pros is because the QBs are too valuable to take hits on virtually every play. The speed issue would equal out because you'd have just as much speed on both sides of the ball. It would then come down to execution. Since most kids go to major colleges with the idea of playing pro ball, schools have to offer offenses that kids think will help get them there. When executed properly, the triple option offense is beautiful to watch and very, very difficult to stop.
To add to that most blue chip football players in the SEC want to play in the pros and it's very rare that you see a triple option based offensive player get drafted. GT has taken a HUGE recruiting hit for its offense to be able to run this system and I doubt many other FBS want to take that risk.

Thanks we got a pretty large group and we didn't want to go to the wrong section.
I don't think you will have any trouble finding your section. The seating diagrams can be a little tricky, but I don't think you will have any trouble once you get to the stadium. As long as you don't go up one of the big spiral ramps with a ticket that says EAST STANDS you will be fine.

I imagine that includes Defensive players. The overall quality of Tech's offensive players has gone down the last few years. Both Josh Nessbitt, Demaryius Thomas, Johnathan Dwyer and even Georgia Southern's own Jaybo Shaw were all recruited during the Chan Gailey administration.

Other than at Running Back and Full Back it's hard for 4 and 5 star players to go out and feature skills that pro teams may find useful.

I'm sure it does include defensive players, and while I agree that multiple-option offenses don't offer NFL experience, the reality is that GT is recruiting better under CPJ than under the previous staff. That's all I'm saying.

Overall the classes are better.

Actually Jaybo Shaw was the first commitment that Johnson got when he took the GT job. The others were Gailey signees.

Yes they are better. What has been lacking is that real stud option QB. Thay might have him in Vad Lee, but you won't know until he hits the field in the spring. Johnson really likes to redshirt his QB so they can learn the system.

Also do you have a link? Could have swore Gailey had a top 25 recruiting class in '04 or '03. Calvin Johnson alone should have made it a top 30 team.

There is a reason you don't see the option in the SEC or the pros. It's called speed. Bama will provide Ga Southern with that lesson Sat. :)
I hate to come to someone else's forum and nitpick but that is simply not true. It's an easy statement to make when your team is so much faster than ours but give me a team just as fast on offense as your D is and i'll take the O every time.
