I'm not so sure. Could be that they're right and it's the SEC refs who are wrong. (Couldn't decide whether that should be blue font.)All Gary tried to do was officiate from the press box thus proving he was clueless. The rules so called “rules experts” are wrong more than they’re right also.
Frank Brookes kinda flew under the radar I guess…Keith Jackson and Frank Brooke's
Pat Summerall and John Madden
No one else comes close, imo.
In the previous millennium, completely agree. He was a knowledgeable yet folksy dispenser of information and wisdom, with a sonorous baritone to boot. After 2000, he became enamored of his own genius and regressed (other than his vocals) to the broadcast mean…Keith Jackson was the Greatest. Nothing since.
Broyles wasn't on that call. It was Keith Jackson and Bob Griese.Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles were the best tandem back in the day. The last great memory of them was the 92' Championship Game and you can always here "HE'S GOT THE BALL!" call in your head when you think about that game. And plenty of "Woah, Nellie's" over several 3rd Saturdays in October and plenty of Classic Iron Bowls before CBS Got their hands on sole coverage of the SEC. Today's group to be honest are tolerated more than admired. I would almost rather listen to the radio coverage and work on my vehicle in the shop than watch it on TV these days.
Frank Brookes kinda flew under the radar I guess…
I forgot about the transition of Griese to the Color Commentary in the 90's. Bob was a good side kick too.Broyles wasn't on that call. It was Keith Jackson and Bob Griese.
It kept trying to make me type BoilerYou try to spell something correctly and sometimes spellchecker just wont let you...
We joined a group at church, and the leader's name is Al Bell. When I saw his name tag I could hear Keith Jackson saying, "Bell, touchdown Alabama!" It was the call of the 1985 Georgia game when Alabama once again "taught the Bulldogs to behave. There are so many memories of the radio and tv calls of Alabama games that I can remember where I was and who I was with. It is a pleasant experience of old age.On the possible bright side, maybe we can get AI Keith Jackson for the next 50 years.
Yeah, it was Keith Jackson that says "Teague runs him down" and Griese says almost shocked and dumbfounded " he took the ball away" and Jackson corrects himself and says either "He's got the ball" or "Teague's got the ball". I can listen to it and still cannot tell.I forgot about the transition of Griese to the Color Commentary in the 90's. Bob was a good side kick too.
It’s still one of the Greatest Defensive plays I’ve ever seen and The call by Jackson and Griese is Iconic for sure.Yeah, it was Keith Jackson that says "Teague runs him down" and Griese says almost shocked and dumbfounded " he took the ball away" and Jackson corrects himself and says either "He's got the ball" or "Teague's got the ball".
