Discussing potential future uniform changes is what everyone here is doing. :)

*****ing about it is what you're doing.
I'm not *****ing about uniform changes nor the very thought of uniform changes. I'm just saying that too many people make a big issue over small, almost totally insignificant things about the uniform. Such as the addition of the little "A" on the jersey. Oh and the Nike "swoosh" too.

I hear ya man. :)

Everything's cool.

I don't like to witness arguments and confrontations about topics that could cause riffs within the Bama Nation - but this isn't one of them.

About the "swoosh"

Almost all if not all teams are sporting a "swoosh" on their uniforms.

I want Alabama uniforms to be as exclusive as possible.

A "swoosh" though small, is still noticable in every frontal camera shot.

Bottom line: I want Alabama uniforms to be as crisp and clean as possible. :)

Wow.

All I was saying is that I wouldn't mind changes if they were made. I think it would be cool to have the script 'A' on the helmets. Now, I'm not going to start a petition to change the uniform.

Everyone rants about tradition. Well, for you fans that were around in the 60's: What did ya'll think about the white helmets? And what about the numbers on the sleeves? If those changes were made, those would be changes based on tradition, right?

Why is there so much venom coming from posters with regards to uniform changes? That doesn't make sense to me. I'm just interested in having a friendly discussion of ideas concerning uniform changes. If the athletic dept. wants to make changes to the uniform or not, it's o.k. with me.

People do get upset when changes are mentions

i mentioned this one 2 years ago and about got lynched. I would not mind seeing a change into the 21st century. Bama wore the 100 logo in 1969 to celebrate the 100 years of football. Bama used to wear black and be called the thin red line. But our team has changed. personally the nike swoosh looks cool on the unis. I think if we put a script "A" on the helmet we would be even more unique, because it is our logo. The numbers dont represent our team, they represent that particular player. Only 1-AA and div 3 schools continue to wear numbers on their helmet. But we cry about having names on the jersy because they dont show team unity some how, but love the numbers because that represents Alabama? It really represents the players jersey number that is all.....

It seems like we were called the Cadets back in the 1890's early 1900's, but I could be wrong. I thought I read that somewhere. At one time, UA was sort of a military school during the Civil War.

I'll tell you right now, they get more than the playing shoes they wear from Nike. I work for a major college athletic department that is affiliated with Nike and the equipment room is fully stocked with every t-shirt, sweatshirt, pant, wind suit, polo, duffle bag, backpack, tennis shoe, and cleat imaginable all compliments of the little Swoosh on the uni and probably a deal to make logo merchandise without licensing fees, etc. Also, each player has several different types of playing shoe with different kinds of soles and cleats and what have you. Just for shoes alone you're probably talking about a half dozen pairs of cleats per year per athlete plus replacements for broken ones. Not to mention the sweat suits, windsuits, tennis shoes, t-shirts, and various equipment bags that they use for every practice and workout and wear around basically every day. There's no way any school would rather pay for all that just to take a 2" Swoosh monogram off their unis.

As far as red pants go, I'd rather just leave it as is. If the old school helmets were white with red numbers then I think it would be cool to go back to the way it used to be but I don't care much either way.
