Are We Really Obsessed or are They Dellusional?

Finebaum had a Tennessee talk show host and a Memphis sports writer on his program this week. Both seemed to think Bama fans were obsessed to continue to be upset about the Logan Young case and think that Fulmer was not totally in the wrong in the things he did.

I can accept Tennessee folks siding with Fulmer, but to think that he was not in this thing for any other reason other than to stop any cheating Bama was doing is totally dellusional. I think when the suit finally goes to trial, we will see (if we already haven't) how the NCAA conveniently dropped investigations into UT wrongdoings at the same time Fulmer was spouting off false and very questionable accusations against Bama.

The NCAA can say that only creditable information is figured into the sanctions all they want, but accusations heighten suspicions and eventually affect sanctions.

I truthfully think Bama folks just want the truth to be told and for a fair and impartial jury to render a decision that will clarify exactly what happened during this witch hunt. Though nothing can undo the harm brought to UA by the unfair practices of the NCAA and the SEC office, an impartial jury rendering a decision that certain parties were guilty of mishandling their positions if not conspiring to destroy a football program will open the eyes of the sports world that the NCAA, the SEC office, and others abused their positions and must be held in check by a system that is fair and equitable to all member institutions. Stepping in and siding with a particular institution and becoming involved in a cospiratory manner, for any reason, in a booster war is not in the guidelines for the FBI, the NCAA or the SEC office.

May justice be done. If this is obsession -to simply want the truth to be told, guilty parties punished, and damaged, innocent parties be compensated, then put me down is being an obsessed Bama fan. I'm sorry UT, I'm just a little sick of your arrogance and self-righteous attitude and hope that every ounce of truth comes out and that you will be totally unmasked and shown to be anything but the "shining beacon on the hill." The only way that this is true is if that hill is slap dab in the middle of hell itself.

Just remember an important lesson that is taught in football. You cannot control what other people do, say, or think. You can only control your own business. In the final analysis it does not matter what UT,the TN media, or anyone thinks about the Cottrell case. It matters only what the judge and jury thinks when the case is finally heard. I would rather be Ronnie Cotrell than them on that day!!

It's the viles that are both obsessed and delusional.

They're obsessed with being regarded as BAMA's equal in the eyes of the college football world. Deep down, they know they aren't and never will be because BAMA established itself as one of the elites too long ago. They know they'll never catch up and it gnaws at them constantly.

They're delusional in their refusal to acknowledge the fact that their obsession has led them into becoming a renegade program. Think about it, there's tutorgate, Bensel-Myers, Gibson, Teegate, Eric Locke, Phatlock, their obvious complicity in the Memphis mess, etc and these are all pretty well documanted and very recent.

Yet, go to any of their message boards and you'll find goober after goober marching in lockstep denying ANY guilt at all on tenorcee's part and acting as if it's all just a remarkable set of coincidences.

The fact is, they've mortgaged their morals for success against BAMA. I think they're close to realizing that the old saying....."There's no such thing as a free lunch." is true.

All the coaches and players are no longer here when the 'Fat Albert' ordeal came down but Tnn still has the rat coach.
I'd rather be on probation than to have 'ole smooth bore mouth with the pistol grip ears' as a fan! l

Eventually, their immunity from the NCAA will wear off and they're going to get their heads handed to them. It may be next year, it may be 20 years from now but mark my words, it's going to happen.

It seems to me that if there's nothing there vis a vis Fulmer and the NCAA, they have nothing to worry about. And if that's true, why do Tennessee fans keep repeating over and over, Fulmer did nothing wrong, Alabama cheated? Sounds to me like they're trying to convince themselves that it was true.

I think the funniest part of the whole thing is that now everybody will know the truth. Doesn't anybody on UT's side wonder why the ncaa, SEC office and UT administration were upset that the documents were released? UT and Fulmer have sold the future of thier program (although the last 10-12 years has shown that UT in fact was not the number 2 program in the SEC), for a few good years. When the court cases are finally settled, and that maybe many years from now, the UT program will be handed the death penalty. It may be 10 or 20 years, but it will happen.
