Someone on FB mentioned that he thought it could be possible that Smith was put in place for a reason. Months from now if Bobby says he got treatment and is now cured, then AD re-instates him as head coach. I will believe it when I see it, but I don't count that out just yet.

Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
Why would Arkansas put themselves in this position, only to re-hire Petrino? Talk about a blacklash from the national media.

I don't get anyone saying that is might hurt them in recruiting for a year. Since 2006 when ESPN started recruiting, Arkansas has been ranked 3 times - 2008 (18), 2009 (20) and 2011 (19). Even during Bama's down years, we were ranked better than them.

If this hurts Arkansas's poor recruiting, they'll be #14 in the SEC recruiting rankings.

Man, I sure don't see him staying and I can't imagine I'd want him to. Long-term, there just has to be a better solution.
I can't see him staying long-term either unless he's able to pull off a 10 win or better season then all bets are off. John L. was on Jim Rome's radio show earlier today. I didn't get a chance to hear all of it but he seemed like an engaging guy based on what I did hear.
