Re: Keenan Allen

I speak this language lol.

Fox 6 supposedly reported he was supposed to commit this week.

I'll certainly be happy when it becomes official

It won't be this week (well I suppose it could be) but I expect that during his OV next weekend or shortly after. Like I told you guys a month ago, this one is over. He's just waiting to make it public info. RTR

This one I do not understand. if he is ready to commit take it. Why wait, it is not like we are holding him off for someone else. He will be one the top recruits for the class.

He is not being held off. It is just a matter of when he makes it public.

You are exactly right BET. Keenan Allen's commitment is not in question and is most likely already committed to the staff which is why it was prematurely released and then withdrawn today. Now we just wait until CNS decides he can make it official.

Another piece in TI, this A.M. talks about him committing very soon...

"He's close. Really close. It should come soon".
That will really put a smile on my face :) . He can make a big impact at WR.

A recruiting writer in the Carolinas tells me Clemson may emerge as a compromise between us and Oregon for Allen and his family.

Anybody hearing this?
IF the compromise is Clemson, then I'd go to Jacksonville State, Troy, or North Alabama. Why the heck go to Clemson where you coach has that weird first name!! If he lives up that way and just has to stay near home, then go to VATech which is better than Clemson.

Sounds like some key folks on this board have fresher information.

For some reason, the Carolinas schools were late getting on Keenan -- and Jon Fulton for that matter -- with Clemson being the exception on Allen.

Fulton never heard from North Carolina, which was one of his early favorites. Butch Davis' recruiting strategy this year borders on the inexplicable.

Listening to Bill King on Rivals Radio this morning on the way in to work and they believe he will commit this weekend during his visit.
