I don’t think they play in the Spring if the ACC, Big-12, and SEC end up playing in the Fall. Even if they do end up cancelling, I don’t think Spring ball happens in any satisifying way due to the NFL being unlikely to play ball with moving their calendar to maximize draft-eligible player involvement.

The reason they have postponed rather than cancel is to prevent a team like Nebraska getting a wild hair and leaving the conference temporarily and maybe permanently if they liked the hospitality.

Isnt cold & dry climate supposed to foster the covid pandemic?

Ever been to the midwest between Jan and April?

Spring football wont happen up here if they are expecting things to drastically improve.

Not to mention that that time of year is dreadful to be outside. And the other dozen reasons spring football won’t work...

not happening

Question re: the Nebraska rumor:
What is the tie between a university and a conference? Of course I realize a university can only be in a conference if accepted, but are there also penalties for leaving?

I think that some of those folks who swore off the NFL are going to be watching them again.
Probably not as many as some of y'all think.

Of course - tbf - this is probably a smaller group than some imagine just as is the pro-Kaepernick contingent. Neither group is very large and both whine to get what they think they want.

Then again, I might have watched a total of 10 entire regular season NFL games the last decade.
Playoffs, yes.

Well now...this is....interesting, First statement...OUCH!!!
I just read this article and it makes a point. Nebraska just isn't Nebraska without Texas players. They also added a quip about maybe Arkansas going to Big12 too. WTH??

If the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 play in the fall, the ripple effects for the Big 10 and PAC 12 will be crushing. Recruiting and the Transfer Portal will be a one stamped out of Big10/Pac12 to the SEC/Big10/ACC. Next years Juniors and Seniors would assuredly opt out of playing in favor of NFL draft prospects. And then what happens if teams like Nebraska and Penn State also leave so that they can play in the fall. This could get really interesting???

I'd imagine Saban has been busy making phone calls to potential transfers

The Southwestern Conference was in deep trouble and Arkansas ran for cover and jumped into the SEC in the early 1990's. The formation of the Big 12 was still a few years away. I have often wondered if Arkansas has later wished they would have just held off a little longer on the decision to join the SEC. 4 more years and they could have been in the Big 12.

I'm sure they like the SEC equal share money, but they'd be a much better fit for recruiting and play if they were in the Big 12.

I love the misfortune of Nebraska due to their arrogance.

But ultimately it is true. Nebraska can’t compete with anyone worth while without Texas and Missouri players.

There may be some truth to viewer increase for the NFL if college football completely shuts down. I might even to decide to tune in to an NFL game..................nah just kidding, I'd rather watch the Hallmark Channel than the NFL..

Heard on the radio this morning that the Big Ten commissioner said that Nebraska was free to seek to play football this fall elsewhere. And that they would not be invited back to the Big Ten if they did so.

Mad times we are living in. Mad.

Exactly what I would tell an SEC team in the same situation.
