I’m not nervous or scared about the guys being ranked #1

It will be a new challenge for sure though.

In hindsight the OU loss was preparing us for this.

They didn’t take OU seriously and thought they could just show up and win and they paid for it.

Since then they have shown up every game and played with intensity and focus.

If they carry that into the Tenn game and Win then look out... we might win out the regular season and stay #1

One thing is for sure... Coach Oates has changed everything including Goals and Expectations.

I hate being ranked #1. Not because the team doesn't deserve it because I believe they do.
I hope the young guys on this team can stay grounded and handle it well.
Someone said it earlier and I will echo the statement: Oklahoma may have prepared us for this.
I will say that I believe this group of players and coaching staff are better equipped to handle this than past teams.
This group seems to have bought 100% into the team mentality and play well together so I'm hoping this doesn't change that dynamic.

I agree with you. CNO really has this thang humming for real! I'm excited to see how this thing plays out for seasons to come. Reaching feats like this really does speak to the success he's been having here with the program.

On a side note, I feel better about us beating Tenn Wednesday. It has the potential to be a hard-fought game but the fact remains, they have to outscore us.

But Purdue will eventually be back #1 before the regular season is up. They have a chance to play another ranked team in the Hoosiers. The only way this changes is if TAMU will be ranked by the time we play them.

If we keep winning I don't see how they jump up.

That is absolutely awesome!! RTR!
I know the argument but it's not valid here. It's been so long since we were so strong in bball, and the season is not nearly done but we look good and the kids are having fun. Good to be back in another sport. Talking to you baseball, softball, swimming, whomever.

I'm sure this is not popular, but I'm not crazy about being ranked number 1 heading into Knoxville to play a mad bunch. Number 1 can wait to April in my opinion...
You can also look at it as a Tennessee team that starting to question themselves. I’ve never really understood the excitement over Vescovi.
