Penn Wagers IS retiring after this year. One of the announcers mentioned it during the game. So he'll be going away soon...still not soon enough for me.

Oh since it's Arkansas, I don't want to hear it.

After all - they didn't think the missed 12 men on the field to say nothing of what sure looked like a trap being called a catch in 1995 cost US the game - village idiot Wally Hall wrote up a whole thing about that.

So......since it's Arkansas, who cares? It just evens it out, which is what I've been saying forever.
As soon as I saw this thread the 95 catch or excuse me the TRAP they did not call came to mind. The hogs definitely got one that day they should not have gotten. So all I can say is cry me a river

You may have a good point, but my memory is not as good as yours.

I'm still focused on that Penn State game years ago that Bama really won when we scored a TD in the back of the end zone, but the Penn State Homer Official said that Preston Goddard, I think, was out of bounds when he caught that ball. That official should be in prison for such a bad call.

You don't forget very easily, do you? LOL -- what was really bad was that our qb, Walter Lewis, had the rap of not being able to win the big game. He brought us back from a deficit, won the game -- and had it stolen from him. That's the day I quit believing that God ordains everything that happens.

You are correct it was Goddard and he had both feet in, so it would have been a catch in the NFL as well. That ranks right up there with the catch at the barn called out as well, I think that was in 95 as well.My buddy has a picture of that one so I see it often.

I distinctly remember this same crew allowing LSU to literally throw one our WRs to ground in the end zone and intercept for a touchdown back when Shula was coaching. I think that score would have a go ahead score that would likely allowed us to win the game.

That was also Wagers' crew. Bama was down 10-6 and about to score. It's at 3:30 of the video. Worst PI no call I've ever seen. The SEC apologized to Bama for it.

Also noticed where Arkansas had the opportunity to decline a delay of game penalty.I didn't think that was declinable

You can decline delay of game. Happens a lot.

Defense in the case of our false start at the end was terrible. They should have been given the option of two things. One accept or decline penalty and 2 be able to accept or decline a 10 second runoff. The clock should have been stopped and not restarted until snap of the ball.

It's cheap an we wouldn't do it and it amazes me someone has not done it but at the end of the game and trying to run the clock out and your needing 15 to 20 more seconds run off, just tell your whole line to hold and make sure you pick up yards. If the defense accepts the penalty you get an extra down that ran off 5 to 8 seconds. You hold again and it would do the same thing. If they get smart to what you are doing and decline the penalty then clock runs. You win the game.
