Bama changing from Nike to Adidas?

There is a rumor going around that Adidas is courting UA to become their sponsor. It is said that Adidas offers a full-time rep that deals only with one team, something that Nike doesnt offer. Personally, I hope we stay with Nike. I just dont really like the way UT, Arkansas, and Nebraska's uniforms look.

It would be fine with me. I think we should be using our ticket and tax money to support a local company (Russell) regardless of how much money Nike gives us. I'm tired of that danged swoosh on everything and my favorite type of script-A hat isn't being made anymore (all red cap - no white holes - with the really cursive script A). But, if we've gotta go with a big company, why not Adidas or Reebok. Nike is kinda like Wal-Mart...an evil empire.

Russell is no longer an Alabama company. They moved a few years ago to Cobb County in Georgia. They are one of my accounts.

How much could they screw up a Crimson jersey and white pants? Alabama's jerseys have looked the same for the past several years, even in switching from Russell to Nike. I would prefer to stay with Nike, though.

....haven't owned a pair of Nike shoes in years. Actually just got tired of seeing the swoosh on everything. Thought it was kinda sad when Bama & Penn St. allowed the nike swoosh to go on the classic uniforms.
Compare the old script A of Alabama to the script A nike uses on their products. See if you notice the slight change.
I would rather Bama still be with Russell and I do believe they still have a distribution center in Alexander City or at least their website list that as their address. Plus Russell's headquarters in Atlanta are more southern than Nike's Oregon.

I think the switch to Nike was the best one. Nike apperal is so widespread that you can find it anywhere. They also make alot of different clothing and other items that are Bama related and I just dont see Rusell or Addidas living up to that level.

I have thought our stuff has just taken a downhill slide as far as apparell goes. There is the ocassional nice shirt or so but mostly you can just tell that people stuck some logo on a t-shirt and decided to sell it to bama fans for $39.99. I hate to say it, but Awburn has better aparrell than we do with shirts. Argh!

Honestly, I like the Nike script A better. The newer logo that was used at midfield this past year is my favorite Alabama logo besides the old A with the elephant stepping through it.

When it comes to Bama apparel....

Rtrcam...I like the classic stuff. I really don't care for the new logo. I like it simple, like the script A.
I wish I could find more stuff with the University Seal. Sometimes on Ebay I can find some of the classic old stuff. I bought some "bar glasses" that were from the 50's. They have a pudgy cartoonish Elephant with a couple stray hairs on his head and a big gut. The University Seal is on the other side.

I hope it stays traditional, because we have all seen Nike screw up Miami (Fla.) and most of all, Oregon's. Just remember Phil Knight is using this money to build better facilities for the Ducks.

I read were Nike supports "homosexual unions" so speaking for myself (and many others I hope) I won't support any company that thinks homosexuality is ok. So me personally I hope Bama does switch from Nike!
