Idk where the original leak about transferring came from. But the staff on on3 were saying he was likely to transfer

The idea he might stay is coming from guys like Ryan Williams and Keelon Russell. They have posted stuff on social media that makes it seem like he might be staying after all. We will see 🤷‍♂️

Ole Miss was going to give him a shot at playing both ways and apparently, now we are...we'll see how true all this is as the day unfolds. But what a day and in time in college football when the players can strong arm the coaches in what they're going to play or they leave without penalty.

While the rumors of Mbakwe hitting the portal had been floating on various sites (On3, 24/7, etc) Nick Kelly, the Alabama Beat Writer for AL.com was the first I saw yesterday “confirming” on X that Jaylen was entering the portal. My guess is that someone on staff told him it was about to happen.

My “other guess” is that someone got to Jaylen and convinced him to hit “pause” on the decision.
