I’m concerned as much about depth beyond the two deep as anything
Hopefully Lawson, Jefferson, Transfer from CO, Joko, Jones, Reese, and then three freshman in this class. 3 guys with experience, 2 more with a lot of special teams reps already so at least know SEC game speed.
Seems like for the second year in a row half our team is in the portal, with not very much coming in. Whats the deal? Is it this bad for every team now, or are we still in a major transition?
From my understanding and observation, he does not have good speed. You can get by in college at some positions if you have quick recognition skills and reaction time. Of course, inexperience hinders recognition.
Minkah and kool aid were also 5 star players. Morgan crawled up from a 3 star.
I think we have had somewhere in the 20+ hit the portal. Add in those going to the NFL and exhausted eligibility, I would say probably close to 40 off the roster. That is just a wild guess. Someone else could probably give a more accurate number. Plus we have another 24 or so with the 2025 signing class.
I know we were working to get our overall numbers down to add some transfers. Where we are with that, I haven’t a clue

Honestly look at the teams in the playoff. Let all these backup scrubs leave. Better to spend money on proven players akin to free agency like NFL.

DeBoer getting rid of some of the locker room issues. Been said by some insiders that Pritchett was a constant complainer.
Just a brutal number when you actually see it. Meaning the 31 pressures.

I don’t disagree, but what does that say if he’s the best we have? We aren’t exactly lighting it up bringing replacements in……
My memory is not it once was but for the most part, that seems to have been true. Either they didn’t pan out or they would not have been able to get on the field at Alabama like Brooks, Holden, and others. There have been a few who would have made meaningful contributions like Bond (even though he hasn’t done much for UTx because of injury, he would have been in Ala’s 3 man starting rotation), Amos and Downs. But compared to the many who have left not that many have really hurt. Even the many secondary losses this year did not seem to hurt much because of coaching and good/great replacements from the portal (e.g., Jackson, Saab, Jones) or recruiting (e.g., Brown, Mincey).
I.e., this staff seems to do a very good of evaluation and coaching/development. There are still some questions about HC and staff such as performance consistency, in game adjustments, etc., but they’ve shown to be capable in important areas.

Pritchett may have protaled out in the spring anyway. Formby had looked better down the back stretch of the season and may have ended the speing ahwad of him. And we will likley add another tackle from the portal.
