No offense was intended, I assure you...

Did you even read the rest of my comment?
I most certainly did.

You want to question what I’m posting, then in same breath tell me you haven’t even put forth the effort to actually “read” the judge’s decision and rationale for issuing the injunction?

Why in the world should I put forth the effort to explain something to you when you won’t put forth the effort to even read the ruling?

It’s called the Sherman Antitrust Act. Been around since 1890’s. Do yourself a favor and read up on it.

Crazy that a voluntary institution can fall under it.

This judge sees it as the two (the University and the NCAA) colluding by limiting eligibility which greatly affects the player’s marketability. Basically saying that eligibility years are arbitrary.
But you bring up a good point. As it relates to student athletes, are universities and voluntary organizations like the NCAA subject to the same antitrust laws as other businesses?

The problem with finding out is you f the NCAA pushes hard on the ,” you’re choosing to be here” angle, the Universities could choose to not be there. Then they could branch off and negotiate a working agreement maybe..

Dude, I wasn't questioning what you posted. I enjoy your posts btw.

I simply commented based on what you put in your post and did not mean it to offend you. I hope that your day gets better, friend!

This forum is usually about discussions, not conflict. If you didn't want discussion, maybe you should have just linked the article without any comment whatsoever?

Even better suggest. Maybe you should actually read the numerous articles on the Pavia decision linked on several different threads before you start making posts about content or context on a subject you admittedly haven’t even bother to read.

As to me, I’m perfectly fine. I’m having a wonderful day.

Maybe both of you should just drop it instead of bickering about it and tying up this thread.

That's what has always confused me. They aren't forced to play college football. In fact, it is college football that has given them the opportunities they have. It seems like an incredible stretch of "rights". That is normal for our court system, however. It seems each judge, lawyer, and juror wants to make a name for themselves. I mean, seriously, if you think college football is unfair, don't play. They have choices, but no one wants people to have consequences for their choices any longer. It's a complete erosion of the rule of law, yet it is led by the insane court system itself. Baffling!

If changes don’t happen soon it won’t surprise me to see coaches like Kirby make the move to the NFL. They are losing the thing that make a lot of them like Saban and Kirby stay at the college level, the relationship and connections to the players and the chance to have some influence over them and help shape their lives. Although you don’t get that in the NFL, at least the rules are stable and you can navigate through without being forced to rebuild every year because of this crazy portal & back room NIL deals.

Well, I can’t recall knowing anyone who “ wants “ to be wrong. The issue is more of how one accepts and learns from those occasions when one is indeed wrong.
True, but is that a case of same thing but we interpret it differently?

If one accepts and learn from it but still think they're wrong..... How does that work?!

IDK, Kirby just doesn't seem like an NFL guy IMO.
