A lot of celebrities were at the game but they didn't say anything about Saban. I wonder if he was there.

There was another story about a little kid in New Orleans (I think). Jalen's rookie year, the kid's old brothers wanted Tom Brady or Drew Breeze backpacks for going back to school. This kid wanted a Jalen Hurts backpack. Being a rookie and having done nothing in the league yet, there was no such thing available.
Jalen heard about it, found a green backpack, took it to a seamstress and had "Jalen Hurts" stencilled into the cloth. Then, and here is where Jalen shines most brightly, he personally delivered the backpack to the kid.
That, I think, says a lot about Jalen as a man.

Kirk Herbstreit tweeted Jalen's story would make a great movie!

So happy for him, Smitty, Dickerson (one of my favorites) and the rest of the guys on the Eagles.
I just saw the movie American Underdog about Hall of Famer Kurt Warner. I see some parallels between the two. Hurts of course was far more successful in college than Warner but somewhere something went wrong. He just wasn't seeing the field or he lost confidence and wasn't pulling the trigger in time. I don't know but it was obvious and came to a head against Georgia in the title game. When he was benched I'd say his chances of standing on that podium last night were practically Nil. He was not in any way ready for the NFL.

But like Warner who was not ready when he came out of college Hurts had to go through the wilderness on the bench, rose to the occasion in the SEC title that next year, went to Oklahoma, continued regain confidence, and continued a slow but steady rise from there to that stage last night. Truly an inspiring story.

Hurts and Devonta become the first QB/receiver combo to win both the National Championship and Super Bowl together.
Hurts also 1 of 3 QBs to win a National Championship and a Super Bowl. The other 2 Joe Montana and Joe Namath.

Congrats to both!!!
I'd love to see a mashup drawing of DeVonta making the 2nd and 26 catch and that catch last night with the two QB's blended in. Last night was one of the most satisfying nights of my football life. Those guys are champions.

Every time you hear him interviewed he demonstrates what a good man he is. Hats of to him and his parents. Class act through and through. No one deserves this more. Could not be happier for Jalen and what he has achieved.

Hurts has always handled and conducted himself extremely well, especially through all the ups and downs in his college career and that's carried through into the NFL as well. I couldn't be any more happy for him, and for all the 'bama guys, but especially for him.

I'd love to hear the story of Jalen's development from both Jalen's and Devonta's perspectives.

Jalen went from a struggling college QB to saving our bacon against UGA in the SECCG, to transferring for totally understandable reasons, to an NFL star. That's quite a journey.

Devonta went from being in the WR room that was in virtual revolt against Jalen to being on the same NFL team and catching a TD pass in the Super Bowl. (Note: I am NOT saying that Devonta was part of the discontent in Tuscaloosa....only that he was in the room and would have a unique perspective on the 2017 Jalen vs. the 2024 Jalen.)

I recall many in Philly who thought the Eagles wasted a 2nd round pick on Jalen. Even at the beginning of this year many questioned if he was going to be the Eagles starting QB in 2025. All he did was work, grind and win. He's the type of guy all young players should want to emulate.

Saw a comment that the Eagles loaded up with players from Saban/Kirby teams because of their character and team ethic...even if slightly true thats not a bad strategy
