Bama vs. Indy in the Rose Bowl - Jan. 1

We all have seen enough of the games over time to know how difficult it is to judge specific match ups and how they may go in the game. Has Indiana been tested to the degree that Alabama has? Probably not! Just based on games over time, all it would take is for Ty to have time and success in throwing the foodball and the likely outcome changes dramatically.
Field position wil be the key…win that battle and you win the game…

Continuing with my complaint thread theme.....

Indiana 30-10.
Crimson Brother, I read the complaint thread and some of your comments were embarrassing for the great fan/poster you normally are!

But then it continued as we started to play better and you started "leaning into it" almost tongue-in-cheek as if those negative comments were somehow having a positive impact on our comeback.

So is "continuing with my complaint thread theme" really who you are going to continue to be after we totally dominated OU for 2/3 of the game and pulled off a great comeback...one of the better ones in Bama history!!!

Come back to your normal self, please! :)

I was saying in the first quarter against OU that we just need to get out of this hole (field position ) After we did that we started cooking.
Yes, that was basically the issue. The first three drives we started at the 15, 15 and 25. On the drive we started at the 25, Ty was sacked and lost big yardage on 1st down and we got behind the chains.

No first downs and 3 punts to start the game is a recipe for failure!

When we finally converted a first down, it's like the script flipped and we controlled the game from there on out!

If I'm a Hoosier fan I'm very confident about this game. They have beaten the two elite teams theyve played and Alabama has obvious flaws their defense can take advantage of.
Aight. We are way past the 24 hour rule. Time to focus on taking down the Hoosiers. I wonder, do their fans now say, "We are a football school?"

So, what ya got???

If they are only using 6 of the 20 hours allowed to practice, they will be very rusty.

There may be reason for the madness. Who can argue with results. I don’t know how many Bama practices are thud practices like under Saban, but we have had a lot of guys injured practicing.
When Cignetti took over his own programs—at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and then at Elon and James Madison University—he tried to run practices as hard as his former boss. But he soon came to realize that Saban-style drudgery could be counterproductive. Players were frequently unavailable on game days because they picked up so many injuries in practice.
So Cignetti put his own spin on The Process: Drill to the point of proficiency, and not a second more.
“I just believe in keeping people fresh and healthy,” Cignetti said. “The better people feel physically, the better they feel mentally, too.”

-They are the best team in football and they barely practice

I agree about keeping the players fresh, but I highly doubt that practice works in the SEC. Just like there are things that have not worked for DeBoer in two years at Alabama that worked at every stop before. No way Cignetti practices that little and has the same success in the SEC. I guarantee it.

Probably heard wrong, they have 39 sacks on the year. Thats 3 per game.
17 INTs and 9 forced fumbles

Bama has 30 sacks,
10 INTs and 15 FF this year for comparison.
That, and, according to what I have heard from the talkers, they get pressure with the D Line and not much blitzing.

Am I crazy for thinking Oklahoma was our biggest threat in the CFP?
I just feel like outside maybe Ohio St defense we match up well with the rest of the field.
27-17 Bama

I think Oklahoma was the best draw we could have possibly gotten outside of one of the G5 teams. My thought two weeks ago was that we should start Mack, but even if we did start Simpson, we would have a chance in the game because we could potentially turn it into a defensive struggle given how poorly Oklahoma had been playing on offense. I also thought we would have no chance against Indiana if we continued to start Simpson. I was very wrong on that. We won because of him Friday.

Simpson playing like he did Friday from the 2nd quarter on gives us a very good chance against Indiana and potentially the Texas Tech/Oregon winner. The problem is whether the receivers can be reliable. Everything was difficult Friday because the receivers either made catches more difficult than they should have or just flat dropped the ball. That's a problem.

As for whether we could beat whomever comes out of the Miami/Ohio St/Ole Miss/UGA side of the bracket, I will just say that I am very happy with the side of the bracket we are on. But in a single game against UGA or Ohio St, I like our chances.
