Bama vs. Texas Tech - Go Bama!!

Alabama, regardless of what some will say, had a fantastic season. Kudos to Murph who didn’t get killed by the keyboard warriors and sports talk jockeys, and produced a great year. Depending on what happens, we have all of our pitching back and most of the players on defense minus a couple. We just lost to a fat POC who had a bought and paid for roster. I’m sure Texas spent a bunch as well but they aren’t as open about it as Tech. If something isn’t done, college sports are dead. Congratulations Ladies on a great year.
Yeah, Glasgow, the true villain of college softball, lost in the championship last year, so he went to the matador club and said I need more hitters. He brought in 7 new transfers this year, 6 of whom are regular starters. It seems to be pretty well known that they were contacting players before they entered the portal. An article I read said that Tennessee transfer Taylor Pannel said she had signed a financial agreement with Tech before she entered the portal. Of the 23 players on the Tech roster, 15 started their careers at other schools. The man's not really a coach, he's a poacher. Anyone can look like a good coach if you have the best team money can buy. I really hope Texas can take them down again this year.

They have uber investors in their program. But the reason it’s so noticeable in softball is because no one spends alot of money in women’s sports. There really is no money in doing so, but they are doing it to win some national championship.

They can’t do it in baseball because there are far more teams that are super committed in baseball, and far more variables that could end your season in the regionals to spend that much. Low risk in doing in softball
They have a couple of big money guys - Cody Campbell and John Sellers - that were co-founders of the Tech Matador Club. Seller's wife played softball at Tech which is one of the reasons Tech softball gets a bunch of money.

Without looking at who has been here for 4 or 5, we may also have 1 or 2 seniors return if the NCAA approves that 5 for 5 rule this month. I guess that'll have to happen before the transfer portal gets into gear, if we're to benefit from it this year.

If that occurs it would also benefit the likes of T Tech as well. College "amateurs" are making a good bit more than professionals, at least at top tier.
