BCS Armageddon Scenario - Iron Bowl Rematch

There is no way that Auburn wins this week-end. But hypothetically, if Auburn won out, Michigan State beat Ohio State, and FSU (perhaps with a 3rd string QB) lost the ACC title game, I believe that Auburn and Alabama would play a rematch in the BCS title game. I think Alabama would land at #2, because Oklahoma State had a bad loss, Clemson will probably lose this week-end, and Michigan State is too far back to jump over them. The human polls would be close, but the computer would heavily favor Alabama. If it happened, Finebaum could just run 24-7 until January.

If that were to happen, I would want to get every Bama fan out of Oklahoma. That would make twice for them. I don't want to even think about what they might do. They still hate our guts for 2011. I can't imagine how much they would hate us after that.

THE BCS DOES care that it's the best two teams. In fact, it is all they care about and is the reason that this is their last hurrah. And because it is their last hurrah, I suspect they could care less what people think. They will this last time, as they have always done, give us what they think are the best two teams.

I had this same discussion with a barner last night via facebook. I said it would be a fitting end to the BCS plus it would really tick off everyone outside the state of Alabama and if Bama won the rematch everyone in the big 12, big 10, ACC, Pac-12 and other fans in the sec would all have their heads collectively explode. I almost want this to happen just for the entertainment factor. almost but not really.

To be brutally honest - if we let them beat us Saturday considering what looks like a total mismatch - then I don't really think we deserve a second shot at them. The LSU rematch was made possible because most voters thought we were absolutely the 2 best teams in the country. I don't think a loss to a team you are supposed to beat by 10+ would qualify as a "good loss".

What if Alabama lost by 1 point to the Barn in a game somewhat like the Georgia vs Barn game and this happened as a result of an SEC Officials BADDDDDDD call at the very end of the game. A call somewhat like the Patriots game a couple of weeks ago but a call that's much worse than that and OBVIOUS to ALL fans, even the Barn fans!!

Could we see a repeat then in the BCSCG?

Can you visualize the number of people from Alabama in the Rose Bowl Stadium watching this game? Can you see all that trailer park trash following our nice RV's on the way to the Pacific?

NO! Just can't happen! Bama needs to BLOW them away on Saturday. Nuke them and look for names after the BCSCG! My heart can't take a game like 2010! We've gotta win and win BIG time!
