If I had to guess, I'd say someone is still smarting after the Citrus Bowl game played after the 1994 season. Jay Barker to Sherman Williams game winning TD pass ring a bell?
My guess is ... way before his or her time.If I had to guess, I'd say someone is still smarting after the Citrus Bowl game played after the 1994 season. Jay Barker to Sherman Williams game winning TD pass ring a bell?
And if you happen to have any compromising pics of OSU coeds, feel free to PM them to me. I've been designated as the resident talent scout. Thanks - will do.
I think it's internet slang for "crying".What's QQ?
Already addressed this question here: http://www.tidefans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165553&p=1874888&viewfull=1#post1874888Finally as to any thin skin comments. First, let's ask what fan base finds career ending injuries funny? Secondly, let's ask what fan base finds gory injuries funny? If you don't find that funny you have thin skin? Seriously? I didn't see anyone complaining about Updyke (for the record Auburn got so much more air time whining about their trees than Prothro's life altering injury). I didn't see Alabama fans complaining the National Championship trophy was broken. These are things thin skinned people might respond poorly to. I haven't seen Alabama fans complain about LSUFreeks work before, even when poking fun at Alabama. All I saw in this instance was the perfectly reasonable response that it's out of bounds to make fun of a gory, career ending injury.
i understand what your saying...sometimes you have to watch how you word things around here or it can be taking the wrong way. Personally i don't think your a troll, but their is gonna be a certain level of scrutiny in what you say and how you say it because you are a rival fan.Didn't mean for it to sound condescending (as was suggested earlier in the thread). But it does seem like a legitimate question given how upset Alabama fans seem to be about his injury. I didn't really think about it being an entry level job, though.
Not trying to make enemies, but I am not an Alabama fan, per se (only through my late father). Hopefully I can get a feel for the "hot" issues and avoid them.
The problem with that is that the injury didn't really happen on that play. It took place earlier when a UF player planted his helmet precisely on Pro's shin at full speed. I commented to my wife that I didn't see how that kept from breaking his leg. Of course, it did just that. If you search back, you'll see that Pro himself confirmed that. From the moment his shin was cracked, it was going to break - if he continued to play football. It was just a matter of time...As to the injury itself, in the past I've gotten in trouble for my placing blame. I think there was no justification for running that play.
I was thinking the same thing. And if that is the case, there was probably no way that it wasn't going to be that gruesome. Unless the training staff could have caught it before the next game (assuming he made it through that Florida game without the severe fracture). The problem with that is that the injury didn't really happen on that play. That's not an awful question - I've often wondered why there wasn't someone who couldn't find a place for him in their company beyond being a damn bank teller. Thanks for the clarification. But if Alabama fans love him so much, why did I read somewhere that he was working as a bank teller? Can't your boosters find something better for him?
IIRC, it happened on a punt return where he lost the ball. Prothro got up limping. In his effort to make up for that play, he did not complain about the injury, shook it off, and kept playing. What should have been a routine fracture requiring 6 weeks to heal became a life altering event. With the additional weight of the UF player on that play, the bone just shattered. The problem with that is that the injury didn't really happen on that play.
