I like making different playlist on my iPhone and I thought I'd get you guys in on the act.

Rules:
1. Intro's must last at least 30 seconds before a lyric has been sung.
2. Genre doesn't matter.
3. Era doesn't matter.
4. Quantity doesn't matter. Could be 10 songs or 1,000.

So far I've got:
Baba O'Riley - The Who (so obvious)
Can't Stop - Red Hot Chili Peppers (probably my favorite intro of all time.)
Hotel California - The Eagles
Heretics - Andrew Bird
Coldplay - Sparks
Eels - Fresh Feeling

Songs that didn't fit the criteria but I wanted them to:
Maps - The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (Intro last 29 seconds!)
Time to Pretend - MGMT (Intro was 18 seconds)

Whatcha got?

Change criterion to 29 seconds. Problem solved.

Dance Hall Crashers - Othello. The original is >30 sec, but the much better live version with guitar playing the horn part is played faster, and cuts the intro to 26 seconds :)

Tom Petty - American Girl. Iconic intro "borrowed" by The Strokes for Last Nite. Dance Hall Crashers also do a good live version with a sub-30 sec intro.

Pink Floyd - Money

Pink Floyd - Goodbye Blue Sky ("Look, mummy, there's an airplane up in the sky")

Pink Floyd - Run Like Hell

Mazzy Star - Blue Flower

Reverend Horton Heat - Marijuana ("Marijuana" is the ONLY lyric, and is spoken intermittently as punctuation to an instrumental song)

Rush - The Spirit of Radio

Rush - Red Barchetta

Rush - 2112 Overture (intro overkill)

The Prodigy - Smack My [female dog] Up

The Prodigy - Firestarter

Drive-By Truckers - Zip City

Drive-By Truckers - 18 Wheels of Love (30+ sec of instrumental intro, and possibly the best spoken word intro of all time for the live version on Alabama ...-Whuppin'

Beck - Where It's At

Whu? No one's mentioned "Safety Dance?

The intro is not that long, but knowing what's coming just makes it irresistible.
