Rivals says Calloway has decommitted from Alabama and has switched to Auburn. Sounds legit, unless he's seriously jerking everyone around:

More power to him..If he wants to sink with The Barn when the NCAA hammers them..So be it..All it does is open up a limited scholly that will go to another Blue Chipper..

Plus I thought Barners said Calloway was overrated & wasn't worthy of a 5*..Why are they so excited now for???..

My cousin's husband works with the athletic dept. at Russellville High School so he knows Brent pretty well. I'm wandering if I should ask him about this on Facebook?

I have to say this is downright embarrassing for him to pull this stunt. I know, I know, he's a kid...but when you've been committed to Alabama for a long time, say you're a life long Bama fan, also make comments about how you don't want any drama, then suddenly make more drama than anyone? I'm sure Saban is amused...

The Barners promise he'll be a RB..Even though he's not a SEC Caliber RB..His 5* ranking is based on him being a stud LB'er..Which he'll end up playing after he fails at trying to be a RB at The Barn..
Sadly, this is probably how it will go.

I seem to remember this same type of thing swaying Karlos Dansby -- AU said he would play WR, and they ended up playing him at LB.

Could he possibly be doing this for a stunt or something? I'm hoping because I think he will be a stud at LB.

ill go with jambam he announces for the tide tonight.

Not so sure when he makes comments like these:

"I feel comfortable with it," Calloway said. "I've been committed to Alabama, I love Alabama. That's where I've been committed and I was committed to it but it just feels like something wasn't right. Ever since then I felt like I made the right decision."

and

"(Earlier this week) I was just sitting there talking to my roommate and I said I'm going to do it. It just came to me. We were talking about schools and talking about this and that, I was talking about Alabama and he was talking about Auburn and it was just like, 'Hey, I'm coming to Auburn.' It felt like a big weight came off my shoulders. It was something that has been stressing me out and now I feel fine."

I have a feeling, like many are saying above, that he'll go to AU trying to be a RB and just end up at LB anyway. In the end it is his choice to make, just hate the way it all played out. Reminds me of Keenan Allen but much worse, because we didn't lose KA to Auburn.

If this sticks -- and considering those quotes he gave, he'd REALLY be jerking everyone around if he switched back to Bama -- it's pretty darn ridiculous.

Of course, it's his own choice. But the guy has been committed to Bama forever, and the Barn has been trying to sell him on playing RB forever. To suddenly decide a month before signing day that RB at Auburn sounds like a good idea is just ridiculous.

Brent, I'd still love to have you at Bama, but if you go Barner on us, please stick to RB, because I'll enjoy watching us crush you. Just bein' honest.

My problem is not with the kid decommitting but the fact that he has waited until the last minute and is using the national stage to do it. RTR!!!!!!!!!!!!

My point exactly. Losing commits is always frustrating but it is an understandable part of the process. But it is always infinitely more frustrating when it is a top recruit that you have had in your corner for a very long time. Suddenly at the last minute he decides to go elsewhere? I'm sure Saban will have a backup plan as always and Trey DePriest is going to be an excellent LB, but it still is no fun to watch a kid leave so close to NSD, especially when he has grown up a Bama fan.

He wasn't going to play RB for us. He has the size of a FS, not LB. I think he would have been a project anyway. A tweener like B J Scott. He just opened another slot for us. Thanks Brent.
