Curious if anyone has had "The Zone" seats and if they can tell me how the seats are and how the experience is. I'm lining up all my ducks for the Bama LSU game and since I've already spent so much on airfare, rv rental, etc I'm considering just going all out on tickets. Either that or I'll probably go the other direction and purchase student tickets and have them converted. I'm a bit bipolar that way.

Are the seats that good? Is it like watching a game with your lethargic great grandfather or is it pretty cool? Is alcohol sold/served? Anyone got any other details on the perks? I didn't find that much granular info on it on the web.

It's a longshot but I've spent money on stupider things and I don't make it back for games except every couple years.

Never been in "The Zone", but the student section is by far the funnest part of the stadium.... but do remember that getting a seat fairly low in the student section for the LSU game would require you to get inside the stadium about 2 hours (if not sooner) before kickoff. Also, Im not so sure student tickets would be any cheaper than The Zone. With so many students not getting tickets at all and alot of them not getting tickets to the 2nd half of the season, student tickets will be in HIGH demand, and VERY LOW supply.

I've been in the "Zone" only on tours; however, I can answer some of your questions.

First of all, if you like the view from the end zone, you'll love the view. You get the best of inside and outside. The seats are actually outside; however, there is plenty of inside area to escape the elements. Alcohol is not sold and is not served, per se. It cannot be brought in on game day, either. However, those who have seats in the Zone, also have lockers. They can bring their stash in the day prior to the game and put it in their locker. There are "pouring" rooms. Ice and mixers are available. Of course, you're more likely to be able to take advantage of the amenities if you purchase your "Zone" tix from a friend or acquaintance. Otherwise, they're not likely to share their stash with you, give you their locker key/combination, etc.

forget the zone, go with field suite seats, you get to hang out with Coach Kines, they feed you and you sit right on the field basically, 1-4 rows, 30 seats a row, thats where i took a ton of my shots last game. Best seats in the house.

I'll keep that in mind, but unfortunately I'm not seeing any up for sale.

We're in The Zone and love it. VERY nice if you're a member or using their seats since you will have use of the locker storage area in the Pouring Room. The food ranges from OK to very good - let me know which game you're coming to and I can get you the menu. Free soft drinks/mixers. It's nice to get back into the AC and still be able to watch the game through the windows, and also check in on other games on the TV's inside the Zone. They do a very nice job. To my wife and I it's the next best thing to a skybox.

To the writer on the Field Suites - I like those as well but you can see more of the plays as they develop from The Zone. The FS seats are much closer to the action, but that's not always a good thing.

If you have more questions, send me a PM.

My mom went back into the field suite during the fourth quarter to enjoy the ac, she sat down on one of the couches and Coach Kines sat down next to here, not many other places you can sit and watch football with a man wearing a NC ring on his finger. I'm sure the Zone is a blast, i just enjoyed hanging out with Coach Kines.

There is a waiting list to purchase Zone tickets for the season. Zone tickets are not sold for individual games and I cannot imagine they would be sold on the secondary market. The minimum donation is running $25,000 to purchase Zone tickets for the season. The Field level seats are sold by games in groups of 10 for $3,000 but were all sold out before the season -mostly in the form of corporate entertainment purchases. The Field Level seats are actually connected to the former A Club room at BDS under the stadium. Former Coach Joe Kines was responsible for selling the Field Level packages this year. They truly are the worst seats in the house to watch the game. When the action is at the goal line in front of the Field Level seats you are close to the action but when the line of scrimmage is in the other 80 yards of the field you have to watch the action on the Jumbo Tron. The food is exactly the same for both the Zone and Field level with both areas having liquor lockers. Liquor has to be taken in the Friday before the game and the Zone locker combinations are so small I can't read them completely sober. My grandkids like the Field Level better because you have access to the tunnel where the team comes out of the locker room and they get excited when the action is on the goal line in front of them. My wife and I prefer the Zone because the stadium seats are much higher and you can see the action better, there is more space inside and the restrooms are closer. You walk into the Field Level seats at ground level at gate 3 and enter the original BDS A Club room and walk up the 4 or 5 rows of the Field Level seats. At the Zone you walk in the front door of BDS and ride the elevator to the 4th floor and walk into the Zone. From there you walk down the 17 or 18 rows of Zone seating. Both areas are in the end zone but you can definitely see the action better from the Zone. Last week you could see Grant had the angles to score as soon as he broke the line of scrimmage. The advantages of both areas are comfortable seating inside the stadium, air conditioning, food, restrooms, and the option of bringing in adult beverages. Fan support is basically good in both locations although I wasn't in the Field Level seats last week. You are definitely feel more connected to the game action in the Zone and Field Level than you are in the sky boxes or other boxes where the seating is basically inside. There is more socializing in the Zone pre game/half time/post game since it holds more people.

HoHo,
Thanks for the ebay link. It was interesting. I went to the site and the seller now has four tickets available on row 1 for $3,400 for the game. Since I have seats on rows 5 and 6, I couldn't resist emailing the seller to ask what the 4 seat numbers were that were being offered for sale. Interesting. I never knew that Zone seats were ever available for re-sale.

And, that being said, I hope anyone interested in acquiring tickets that way takes all of the standard Ebay self-protection measures...
