Has Meyer said specifically "he's suspended for the SECCG", or just that he's suspended indefinitely? Indefinitely could mean we don't know when we'll reinstate him.

Dont get me wrong Carlos is a great player but our D is pretty deep and in games like this players step up. I dont see Dunlaps absence making one difference. Trattou is a beast as are the others. Harvin was an Athelete and more of an impact. Gators will miss him but will play at the same level.
I think you're being too optimistic.

Then again, I am still surprised at how well their offense played despite the absence of Harvin last year.

Well their offense certainly did not perform the same, tebow made passes he had not made all year long and that is the ONLY reason they beat us, well that and a missed grounding call and an untimely face mask penalty. JMHO..

Make no mistake the loss of Dunlap is painful for them much like DH was to our defense he was/is that good and while they may have more "beast" to stick in there that beast is not a top 10 NFL draft pick caliber so they will feel it SOME...

The key is stopping their run game and shutting down Hernandez no if, ands or but's about it. We have to shut them down first and make tebow beat our secondary which has improved very nicely since last year and MJ may have played his best this season but he and KJ will have to play the best games of their life Saturday in order for us to win this one because I feel we can shut down their run but we must get them off the field once they have to pass it...

I'm thoroughly surprised that UF actually mustered the cajones to suspend Dunlap. In the interest of being a skeptic, I'm going to say I'll believe it when Saturday comes and Dunlap isn't on the field... ;)

I still think this is a sneaky ploy by Urban, Let Bama think he's suspended, then at the 11th hour here comes Mr. Asleep at the Wheel :Smiliz_Kingz_PDT_14
I don't buy it at all. I'll believe it when I don't see him dressed in his uniform.

We have been without our second best defensive player for most of the year, so this will even it out a bit. If Urban is even going to suspend him? Not sure didn't feel like reading 19 pages. If someone could just give me a yes or a no that would be great.
Thank you, I've been waiting for someone to mention the fact we've had to play most of the year without Hightower. Though all the back-ups have done a great job, he's a pretty hard guy to replace.:BigA:

LMAO.... Sorry man I get so fired up about people worrying about "1" guy being there or not and to be honest I want him and anyone else they THINK will help them win to play.... NO EXCUSES...... I just think we have a great shot at beating them and I do not want to hear the EXPERTS blame it on "1" guy not being there is the reason we won....

If I remember correctly we lost a pretty good LB and NO ONE (media) is crying over that and last year at the Sugar Bowl we lost "2" starting All Americans + and no one says a word they just say quit making excuses~!~:pDT_orctrinque:

You haven't been paying attention during your wait, because it was mentioned on the fourth page of this thread.

I agree. I don't care how any gator fan wants to try and spin it, losing Dunlap hurts their defense, plain and simple.
Ive watched every Gator game twice this year and they do just fine with Dunlap out. There is no spin here. It sucks yeah but Trattou is amazing, and the media will hype it up and iam glad they will for it will cause the d to prove they are not dependent on one man. Just wait and see. So please media play it up how much we will be hampered now:)

Well I'm not saying it's going to cripple ya'lls defense or anything like that, but answer me this: if Trattou is so "amazing", why isn't he starting ahead of Dunlap?

Because Dunlap is even more amazing. Nobosy said Trattou was better or that Dunlap wasnt great, only saying He will give a b+ whereas Dunlap would give an A It will not cripple our D. We are not putting in some redshirt schlub but one who has played just about every week and done great.

I guess that's about the answer I was expecting. You can downplay it all you want but I'd be willing to bet that ya'lls coaches probably don't feel as upbeat about not having Dunlap's services.

Look without coming across as rude I really am not concerned if you believe it or no. It is only one obssessed Gator fans opinion and yes the coaches will be concerned but not in a panic. The issue will be if Trattou gets hurt. We will see how seriously debilitated our defense is. A little yes, but not much. Have a good night.

Did you ever think that the reason both play so well is they both get the chance to rest because they are both good..... to me the question isn't so much the difference between dunlop and trattou its whats the difference between trattou and the 3rd stringer?

This is the real question, I am sure it is another talented player but maybe not as experienced. That will be the only thing I see coming into play, might be as talented as Dunlap but getting thrown into the SECCG like that is a shock to the senses.......this is a complete shot in the dark as I have no idea who the 3rd string guy is or if he has seen the field in a big game or not.

I haven't watched that many Florida games. Just curious if you can elaborate on how Dunlap and Trattou have split meaningful playing time this season percentage-wise. Do they rotate a good bit? Are they situational (one coming in for known passing downs and the other for known rushing plays)?
