I could not look my team mates in the eye if I pulled this stunt during the week of the SECCG. Wow!

I've heard a couple of people on tv talk about this being one of the biggest games in SEC football history because both teams are undefeated, where they are ranked and considering what it at stake. I'm not trying to beat up Dunlap, but to do something like this is unexcuseable!

That's not a "I had a beer and forgot to eat dinner and just went over the line" DUI... that's an "Jeez, I know who this kid is and I would let him go if it weren't so incredibly bad that I don't have any choice BUT to arrest him" drunk.

Interesting that there was 2 hours between the traffic stop and the booking. I wonder if there was some thought given to NOT arresting him...

With this type of incident I am not sure how Meyer is going to get away without suspending him. If he blew a .0081 and some officer was over zealous or something that might be one thing... but this is so incredibly clear-cut that I can't see a way for him not to be suspended.

If he was so intoxicated that the officers couldn't keep him conscious, it's very possible they requested an ambulance to check him out and make sure he didn't need to go to the hospital.

And having never been arrested I can't say for certain, but it seems like they'd have to wait for him to sober up some before booking just so he knew what was going on. I don't think a 2 hour time difference is really indicative of anything shady potentially going on.

As for the outcome, I would be amazed if Dunlap weren't suspended for the SECCG (if not the rest of the season). There is simply no defense of this sort of action and anything less than a 1 game suspension would be a joke... a morally reprehensible and extremely unfunny joke

I'm anticipating a "I'm very disappointed to have a player put himself in this position, but we need to get all the facts in. Carlos hasn't been convicted of anything yet."-type of comment from Urban between 2-4 pm today...

I think he will play, urban will say he was in the bathroom when all the drinking happened and just happened upon the scene after the reckless driving was over. I think we should be looking for the people who put a passed out dunlop at the wheel of the car cause they are the real culprits.

If Blount gets suspended for practically a full season for cold-cocking a Bronco who was taunting him wouldn't putting peoples lives in danger due to receive at least one game? Then again, I am of the mold that these DUIs deserve a far more serious felony rating.

I for one want to give a big Thank You to the police and whoever called to report it. From the sounds of the might have been just in time to save someone's life. Just think about it....have you ever been stopped at a light and backed off the brakes and your car start moving forward??? I guess he was either luckily on an uphill or his foot was so big and heavy to keep the brake depressed, but for how long??? He could have been minutes away from moving his foot lurching forward into the intersection killing or seriously injuring an innocent person. Meyer has to suspend him for at least the SECCG anything less would be inexcusable.

I agree 100% with you man, we need to get the Knoxville PD involved ASAP!
I can't stand to see people run down these great young role models names like they were criminals!! I will not stand for this atrocity...close this thread immediately!!!

And as for who put him in the car and then secretly intoxicated him...I have a lead from my mothers aunts sisters baby's daddy...it was Nu'keese Richardson...he's back in Florida and doing this garbage just like he did it to Janzen Jackson...man somebody needs to stop this kid before he hurts somebody!!!

Man, Carlos must not be very bright. He should have told the police that "it was a private matter and he did not want to discuss it." They would have then let him go on his way with no questions, or does that only work if you're Tiger Woods? :biggrin:

I'm pretty sure there will NO WAY that the school can gather all of the necessary evidence, data and information on this to make a logical decision for at least a week. Until then, they will consider him innocent until proven guilty.

As someone else said, I don't think the University will allow this to happen. Maybe Meyer wants him to play behind closed doors, but the AD overrules him and this internal disagreement prompts him to head to ND.

... I am serious about that first sentence though.
